We have been wanting to make some functional cat furniture for our our cats.  I am going to make stair shelves this weekend but came up with an idea I am on the fence about...we have 2 end tables-they match and one is smaller than the other.  I only paid 6.00 for both.  I am thinking of stacking them in a cool way and then putting carpet all over them(thank you texasgal2!).It would be cheap and we have other end tables-I have tons of DIYs waiting but I don't know if it A. would work or B. would look okay. 4951

We have one of those carpeted multi-level cat play centers. If you have the materials, the time and are crafty, I say go for it. You would save a ton of money because most that size can run between $80 and $200. Just make sure you secure the levels really well to prevent hem from toppling over. Also, make sure you secure the carpet so they aren't temped to chew it up and shred it. My cats have a carpet fetish and will turn loose carpet into a snack if given the opportunity.

If you end up making one, please post pictures. I would love to see how they turn out. 4951

Hen I had Ami I made him a carpeted cat tree it of scrap wood pieces and PVC pipes. It was super easy and he loved it. Just make sure that with the weight of the cat at the farthest point, it won't topple over. You need some counter balance. 4951
