When my parents moved into a new house in Kingwood, the first bill was $800 and the next month $700!!! Whew. I'm in Atascocita so not City of Houston, my water bill averages $25/month. Can't imagine what I would do if mine were ever that high! And their electric averages $1,000/month!!! 4951

@BooBear: Whats up with Teenagers living in the shower.  My sister complains my nephew takes 20 minute showers.  I can only guess what he is doing.  I don't remember taking long showers when i was a teen.

REMEMBER,,, we pay for the CITY of Houston water bill,,, to include all the watering around town so it can look pretty,,, (but my yard looks like crap),,,, and for those unfortunate souls who are "forced" to live in gov. housing. 4951

I'm on the city of Houston water and mine is $25-$30 a month. But when we first moved here it was staying close to $175-$200 a month for 3 months and the fire hydrant in my front yard was leaking. They said the 2 were not related, but since the hydrant was fixed, my bill has not exceeded $30. 4951
