I'm trying to find people that are interested in road cycling. I try to ride 15-30 miles at a time with the occasional 50-75 mile ride, as well.

Anyone else ride? 4951

 I do a lot of mtn biking.      I never found a group to do the cycling with so I sold that bike.  But I know there are some that meet up at the Randall's parking lot. 4951

@DiverDude:

Yeah, there's a few groups around but I prefer having a set group of 3-4 people. 4951

The tour of Flanders is almost a mountain bike race with all the cobblestone.

I ride- usually solo ( until dh heals from having both knees scoped) and rarely in KW. On occasion I'll do loops on Willow Terrace and High Valley. I usually go down to Duessen and loop there to Eisenhower. There's a nice group that leaves out of Bike Barn ( I think some of the group from Starbucks meets up with them.) the Bike Barn group has varied paces- 15 to over 25 mph. You have to know the route because they will drop you. There's a no drop casual ride on Sunday evenings out of Bike Barn too. I'm doing a century this weekend and then tapering a bit till hubby is back to speed- so you probably wouldn't want to ride with us for a couple of months. What's your pace? Also check with Bike Barn site - they list all the rides and usually they have a free one once a month 4951

@jpgurl I usually ride 16-17mph average but that is solo. I used to be an obsessed cyclist and I'm trying toget back to that skill and endurance level. 4951

No- dh has a Garmin- I just have a bike computer. When I run I use MotionX GPS on the iPhone - he uses his Garmin Forerunner( tho his running days are over I think.)
I am passionate about cycling but I'd say we're more recreational. I'm about 15-17- but when dh gets back in the saddle we'll be much slower until he builds his fitness levels back up. Sometimes we ride with a loose based group- 5-6 total but nothing organized - the guys all hang around 17-18- there's one girl who hangs with them- I usually bring up the rear but sometimes there are a couple of slower riders. We don't ride pace lines. We usually do anywhere from 33-50 miles leaving out of the Flying J off of 242. We haven't ridden together in a long time tho- time constraints and surgeries.
Sounds like you'd fit in with the Strbucks group- they're a nice bunch- I know a few of the riders- they're a tad too competitive and hard core for me- but they're nice guys 4951

I like to ride, but nothing with pedals....15-17 minutes is way to long for my attention span. I have never tried a group riding, but hey after 15 years maybe we should keep our options open. Good info though I think I might have some researching to do, especially since I thought this read are there any psycoist in here lol
Seriously though, that is awesome y'all are able to do that. I did the cycling class at Gold's Gym one time and my *** hurt for a week. I had a harder time with my butt cheek muscles being sore then any other part of the workout. 4951

@4psychos: lol-I teach cycling at Golds! Your rear parts get used to it! I have a cycling jersey You'd love. It looks like a straight jacket ( it's a print) and has Psycholist written across the front! I wear it around Halloween
