I wish them all many blessings and many happy years together, however, they haul 21 people back and forth to the TODAY SHOW each time they want to announce something. They travel to announce each pregnancy (which is a wonderful blessing), then the sex of the baby, marriage, grandkids, sex of the grandkids, etc. Couldn't this be accomplished in a local press conference, by video feed, Skype, or even a press release, etc.? Do all 21 people have to fly cross country each time? I'm commenting purely from a mounting expense perspective. Wouldn't the kids benefit more if that money was put toward trust or college funds? I get it and would understand if the parents travel to announce, then have the kids/grand kids appear by video feed. It just seems to be such a waste, even if the networks are footing the bill each and every time. 4951

No, the son announced a few weeks ago that he and his wife are expecting. Then I saw a reference where everyone (2 parents 19 kids, his wife and his two kids) came back to announce the sex of the baby. Wait, that's not 21, that's 24.

I really do get it. Multiple announcements keep them in the press which keeps the show going and relevant, but does EVERYONE have to travel?

Sure, haul everyone around for vacations, etc. but for reproductive announcements? Just seems outrageously excessive.

24 people x $500-1000 airfare
22-23 people x $50-100 per day of food (a couple are babies)
6-8 NYC hotel rooms @ $300-700 each
Transportation and security for everyone

I'm just sayin'..... 4951

because all the kids are home schooled they feel they have to take them every where . It would seem to me that they would not want everyone on the same plane in case it crashed ( heaven forbid) . They also took the entire family to China > My husband has to go to China 4 times a year on busines & it usually ends up costing around $5,000. for his air , hotel & meals & transporation for the week . Can you imagine what it would cost for the entire Duggar family to spend a week in China ? Eventually everyone will loose interest in the Duggar family just like they did in the "Kate & sextuplets" if you remember for 6 years they were rated #1 , then they dropped to zero & off the air really quick . So eventually the "Duggars" will follow the same pattern & go down that same road....Personally , I was tired of them after the 1st time I saw them on TV , anyone that has 19 kids needs to get out of bed & get a life beyond the bedroom ...JMO. 4951

It just seems that their priorities are changing. It's all about the travel and glitz for them now. 4951

I really hope the mom doesn't try to have anymore after she lost the last one and had so many problems with the last baby. 4951

They gross me out!  They look like imbred people!  I don't think it is fair for the older kids to have to raise the younger ones.  They need to have their own lives.  they will have enough child-rearing of their own.  Can't watch that show!  Ugh! 4951

I totally agree. Mom makes babies while the girls raise them. Poor girls need to go out and explore the world . I wonder if they resent their parents at all. 4951

I had 3 & my husband had 4 when we met , then after we married we adopted a 12 year old girl , so we had 8 , 4 boys & 4 girls . Never a dull moment ...trust me (LOL) I was young & stupid then .....today I thnk one child is enough & 2 would be perfect (LOL) . My grand-daughter has 5 kids & she does not have a life of her own , plus she works full time . She is old before her time ...but I always say ....you do the deed you pay with your life....having children is a life long job , it never ends till the day you die .....some times are good , some are sad & some are not so good ....but if  all the kids live to see another day & are good people , then you have done your job well...... 4951
