More and more evidence coming out that the earth is not warming and everything pretty much dtaying the same. Too bad we have wasted billions of dollars on Green energy failures, over priced lght bulbs, dinky cars and the EPA.Will we change course and get back to drilling, probably not.http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2294560/The-great-green-1-The-hard-proof-finally-shows-global-warming-forecasts-costing-billions-WRONG-along.html

I don't need a chart to tell me its hot as hell outside.
When I was kid I played in a pasture of 3acres. We woke up got ready for the day ate breakfast and went outside to play. Mom would bring a pitcher of whatever we had and when tha was gone drank from the hose. We had lunch outside and didn't come back in until it was time to clean up for supper. That was just a way of life for us. Nowadays people die from what they call "heat exposure ". My theory is one of two things is going on 1) the earth is in fact warming and causing extreme climates that cause death 2) people are just weaker now and natural selection is weeding them out in preparation for the fast approaching D Day.... 4951

@4Psychos in the summer Mom kicked us out the house around 8am and we didn't come until dinner time (For lunch we always ended up at one of our friends house). Those were hot summers but we didn't mind because we were having fun (Dirt clod fights, fishing, buidling forts, exploring) . It also didn't seem bad because we were used to it. Now you sit in 74 degree A/C house and walk outside when it is 90, yeah it feels hot.Funny, Mom never fussed to make sure we had sun screen on before we left. Wait, I don't think there was even sunscreen, it was call sun tan lotion. 4951

Literally when I was a kid we were very poor, we hauled water inside boiled it on a wood burning stove and stomped our clothes in the tub and hung them out to dry. It was a way of life we dealt with didn't complain and I'm a stronger more appreciative person for it. 4951

@TexINS:  We lived in a rural area and we did all of the same things.  We were even let loose with BB guns, and later pellet guns!  There wasn't even sun tan lotion back then.  We sun-burned and lived with it.  Of course, we didn't have A/C, so we just got used to the heat.

We may be seeing an increase in summer temperatures, but I don't buy that it's caused by man.  This planet has undergone innumerable sifts in climate over it's million/billion years of existence.  What I find funny about this whole thing is that after some of our recent winters had record lows, many changed the term from "global warming" to "climate change".   EmoticonOh, and here's one just for @TexINS: 4951

@Fairlane67: I think it has to do with that official day of spring thing, maybe if we passed laws to do away with that first day of spring, it will stay cooler.

@Retired_Engineer. My Mom used some sort of oil (Olive oil?) to get a darker tan. She also smoked Winston 100's and drank TAB. Thans the Lord she is still alive and kicking (she quit the smokes 5 years ago) 4951

@TexINS:  Interesting.  My mom grew aloe plants and if we got a bad sunburn, she would break a section, and rub the goo from it on our burns.  She also smoked some sort of menthol cigarettes (constantly)  and drank TAB by the carton.  Glad to hear you mom is still with us and has given up smoking!  My mom finally gave up smoking a few years before she died.

BS. There are islands disappearing because the ocean is rising because the polar ice caps are melting because of GLOBAL WARMING...go to Alaska & tell me that global  warming is not a real threat. Don't get me wrong I think the earth goes through periods of rebirth & that's probably what's happening, but I'm sure we are speeding up the process. For someone to say there is not difference what so ever is a moron. 4951

@Haybugg no real change in temps over the past 15 years. amny glaciers are growing (see Greenland). Europe had its coldest winter 2012/2013. Much of the blips in warming data can be attributed to solar flares, El Nino - La Nina, and ocean temps. 4951
