My computer is still having issues with my pictures so I have moved my external hard drive on to DH's computer but it tells me I need permission to access my picture folder or modify.  I can do things with other folders.  Where do I change permission?  Is this sharing since I am moving the hard drive to another computer?I feel this computer is going to crash soon and I am trying to be prepared. 4951

I don't think there was a sign in after a reboot.yes pretty much everything is backed up... we wiped the hard drive last month so there hasn't been much put back on here. 4951

@mogopups:  With your external hard drive connected, go to Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) and go to where you can see your pictures folder.  RIGHT-Click on the folder and check the Properties.  When you saved that folder from the other computer, it may have set some unusual permission/restriction.Don't know if this will do it, but it's worth a try. 4951

I am not sure what the permissions should be in the first place.  Thought maybe it was because it was read only but all the files seem to have that marked. 4951

@Retired_Engineer: I went to there and under security tab for groups and users there are many "names" listed.  Not "everyone" that I noticed on other files.  This was possibly changed to view pics through an Xbox.  there is an edit button, can I just add everyone back on there.
