I found that I really won't make it to the gym if I have to drive a long distance. 4951

I go to Lifetime & I like it a lot. It's clean, everyone is very nice there. It's not a meat market, which I appreciate a lot! Plus the cafe that's downstairs has delicious healthy food, snacks, and smoothies for after your workout. They also have a spa/salon & I got the best massage of my life there. It was complimentary when I joined! Good luck. Emoticon 4951

If you live in Kingwood, I would not recommend driving all the way to Lifetime near Atascocita High School. You will stop going after dealing with that awful W. Lake Houston/1960 intersection. My gym is less than a minute drive from my house - there is no excuse not to go! 4951

Depends on what you are looking for.

I go to golds....its a no frills gym. All i need is some free weights, squat rack, bench and a treadmill and i am good. My only complaint is when their equipment is broken it stays broken for an extended period of time. That and it gets really crowded in the afternoons. I usually go in the mornings before work.

If i wanted to get all foo-foo about it i would go to lifetime.

24 is too far to drive so i dont have an opinion. But according to fcabanski there are always scuffles on the basketball court and crazy people trying to run over people in the parking lot 4951

If you are ok with a two year contract it seems like option 2 is the least expensive. 4951

I just joined Blast Fitness, which is the old Bally's in Humble.  I know the area isn't that great but it's cheap, no money upfront and no contract.  It has everything that I need/want.  Also, I use the child care service and that is included, which would cost more for another membership elsewhere.  Blast Fitness has 2 membership options.  $10 or $20 monthly.  I went with the $20 membership as it allows you to bring a friend for FREE every time I go.  And eventually, they will have tanning which is included in the membership.  However, there is a annual membership fee which isn't due until after the 1st month of being member, and it's $49.  I have a few other Girl Scout moms that go here as well, so it has benefited me. 4951

If you join the LTF on West Lake Houston/Will Clayton, you also get the one in KW for free, right?

I am a big fan of LTF, we have been members since we moved here, we're lucky though...it's less than a mile from our house, and we have no excuse to not go.  Before we joined LTF, we were living inside the loop, and the closest gym was a Bally's.  It was way cheaper, but it's sucked butt.  Totally no-frills.  If you go regularly at least a few times a week, it's totally worth the extra money to go somewhere nice.

I would recommend which ever one lets you hang the most articles of clothing on them, cause face it, that's what you've done with every piece of exercise equipment you have ever brought home.... and don't lie to me.... you know you did it! 4951
