If you use one of the places like Pirates Cove where they run your car through and someone dries it off and signals to you when its done...do you tip that person? If so, how much? 4951

I usually do. It depends on what I might have on me at the moment. A dollar or two at most, if they take the time to pay attention to the details. 4951

$2-$3 max.    It's not a job that requires much skill or hard labor.  The pay should fit the job.  They get paid by the company plus tips which I'm sure are not being accounted for on their taxes.  If they spend 10 minutes on a car and take a break between cars they will still be turning out 4-5 vehicles an hour.  $3x4=$12 tax free.  If they had paid taxes it would be around $17  ...per hour, plus their pay which I'm sure is minimum wage of, what $7?  That equals an hourly pay of $24.   That is a lot of pay for polishing a car.  That's more than the waiter/waitress or your children's school teacher.   ...and they don't even have to speak English.  Sorry, but $2 - $3 MAX!    $24 x40hrs =  $960/week   $960 x 52 weeks = $49,920          .....and you want to tip them more?                                   They wash cars for a living and make $50k? 4951
