Hey guys!
I moved to Kingwood in June. We decided to stick with our old church until promotion Sunday, because we were already changing so much for our then 2 year old (new house, new school)....
So, the time is here and now we are "church shopping" in Kingwood.
We are members at FBC in Houston and LOVE IT... but we want to build community with people who live near us, not people who are in Katy, Sugar Land, etc. It would be nearly impossible to go to BBQ's, bible studies, etc...

Anyway, I also don't want to visit a TON of churches, because I know it will be hard for my now 3 year old to be left alone in strange places, you know? We visited second baptist church last week... we only stayed for "big church" so not to leave our daughter alone for 4 hours. This week we are going to do big church and a SS class.

I actually live by the FBC in Kingwood, but by the looks of it.. it seems like it's an older population there? (wow, am I being too judgemental?!)

What do you guys suggest? We prefer a baptist church, but even non demoninational would be OK..
Other factors: great worship, variety of SS classes, bible studies for women/men, connect groups.

What do you guys think?
Thanks in advance! 4951

I go to New Covenant Church off Wilson Road next to Humble High School. It might be a drive but totally worth it. Great worship, great group of people and the pastoral team is great. The one thing I like about this church unlike other larger churches is the Senior Pastor leaves his door open after service on Sundays and anyone can come in and say Hi and chat. 4951

Calvary Christian Fellowship is everything you described & then some. Non denominational church in kingwood. Lots of different studie sessions, children's church for younger & older kids alike, they always have something going on & if you can't attend something, they never make you feel guilty. Very great congregation that you shold check out. 1365 Northpark Dr.

We belong to Second Baptist Church and love it. There is a wide age range, tons of groups and a great kids program from toddler all the way through high school. 4951

We attend Second as well.  We go on Saturday evenings, it's a much smaller group.  Both of children really enjoy the children's program 4951

@Silly123 I think you are talking about Good Shepard Episcopal. They have a good preschool there too which may be a plus in this case. i have heard good things about it. 4951

@lainerigs:
I have attended Kingwood FBC for 5 years now and love it! Does it have old people? Yes! Is it majority old people? No way! I teach a class that is like "big church" for 4-6 year olds and we currently have about 40 kids each sunday. After big church, they split into small classes by age group for more 1 on 1 activities. This should give you some idea of the large number of families we have with small children. There is definitely a place for you and your family via SS, MOPS, Weekday Bible Studies, etc. 4951
