they are afraid
Â
@TexINS:Â Who is "they"? Â There is no Church of Atheist. Â No one represents atheists as a whole.
Hitler
Â
@TexINS:Â I haven't read it since high school....so 30ish years or so...but in Mein Kampf I'm positive Hitler stated his belief in Christianity.
Hitler, Stalin, Lennin and a host of other commies
@TexINS: Or we could list the Christian annihilation of various Pagan groups starting in 315 through at least the 6th century.  Or Charlemagne who in 782 had 4500 Saxons beheaded due to their unwillingness to convert to Christianity.  Battle of Belgrad 1456 - 80,000 Turks in the name of Christ.  How about the Crusades?  Only 200 years of chronicled event after event with tens of thousands killed.  Toss in heretics, witches, religious wars and the numbers continue to climb and climb.  In the 4th and 5th centuries Jewish synagogues were burned by Christians.  In the 1200s entire Jewish communities in England were exterminated.  Same for the 1300s in Germany, Switzerland, Prag and Seville.  The Jew killings lasted throughout Europe all the way up until Hitler.
Again...I think the people who put the signs are fools. Â I don't see any good coming out of it. Â But let's not act like atheists are any more or less blood-thirsty than anyone else. Â It's historically foolish and offensively hypocritical. Â 4951
