@BooBear The mercedes parts in the Chrysler means it is really expensive to fix. Headlights will run $150 per bulb. Here are some cool convertibles, don't know if they are in your price range:
 

 Saab 9-3

 Honda S2000

 Pontiac Solstice - Plus it was a transformer

 Min Cooper

 
If you have a trusted mechanic ask them which is the best car. Just don't get a Sebring convertible.

Go for whichever one makes you happy!!!
Several years ago my hubby did the same thing.  He ditched the generic Honda Accord and got a Mazda RX8.  This car is loaded!  He was trying to decide between the Saturn Sky and the RX8, he went with the standard RX8.
He really enjoys that car.  So far, no speeding tickets.

@TexINS:   Both are German engines and I think both built in the US.

its not hard to be able to pay cash IF your money is not going to other bills and you live below your means money just kind of accumulates.

And please be careful...there was lots of tire debris coming at me this morning from a truck ahead whose tire was falling apart.

That is what scares me!  We've had so many windshield dings since we've moved here it's unbelievable.  Houston roads are awful for debris.
