So I am wondering if anyone on here has bought a wedding dress from China and if they can tell me about their experience. I know there are other places people have answered questions about this but I cannot tell if they are real people or not. 4951

why exactly do you ask? if you want one then why don't you have one tailored here? there are several cloth stores that have quality imported fabric. 4951

I also forgot to mention that Chinese is fairly broad. There are many ethnic groups and each has their own culture. 4951

I have never had a problem finding a great dress here in the U.S. (I had 2 weddings). I bought both of my dresses at David's Bridal. The first one was during their $99 sale, it was an Oleg Cassini off the shoulder formal dress with a detachable train that was from the prior season, and my Mom really liked it, (this was for a traditional Catholic church wedding)  and my second one was $175 and a halter style which I loved (can't recall the designer). It was less formal, but since it was an outdoor wedding in Sedona (see below), I didn't want anything super formal, especially since it got dirty from walking around the red rocks.
There are also tons of dresses listed on Craigslist etc. that you can snag for a fraction of the original cost.
Personally, I wouldn't trust buying overseas on E-Bay....too much can go wrong. You want to see the dress in person and try it on rather than just buying blindly.

Iv looked high and low and the cheapest one I can find I like is $665. My Davids Bridal consultants have sucked so far (been there 2 times). I think I am going to get a few pics and go to master tailor and ask them. I also have a problem with dresses being too short since I am 5'11". 4951

Have you checked with Couture House in The Woodlands? They do rentals on quality dresses. There are other dress rental companies in the area too. Might be worth a shot. 4951

I had a problem finding a dress as well. I ended up getting one online through David's Bridal. I also got an extra at Dillard's or Macy's(can't remember which one). I paid a total of 450 for both. 4951

I know...everything is made in China...by what I read its just the ones directly from China do not go through a quality check. 4951

@ Nicole 4647....My husband goes to China alot , so while he was there he bought me an outfit , I wear a 14Â here in the US , so he bought me a 16 in China thinking it would fit since China has different sizes than we do . Well when he gave it to me I had to laugh , it fit my grand-daughter perfect & she is a size 2 in US . So be smart & buy only in the US...
Have you tried any of the resale shops ? Black Kat ( HAMM) on 494 has several beautiful wedding gowns , also Goodwill stores carry them & they are priced really well . You will need to have them cleaned of course , but they are beautiful gowns at a huge savings.
If all else fails I have a size 6 wedding gown in the attic , you are welcome to come & see it & I'll sell it for $100.00 .....good luck ! 4951
