I went there today to do some major stocking up before the Baby comes.  Men + women Razors, shaving gel, paper plates, cat food, frozen meals, lots of cheese, soup, fajata meat + chicken, whole chickens, ziploc bags, bread, dishwasher gel, light bulbs, olive garden italian dressing, walnuts, cashews, yogurt, orange juice, bacon, blueberries, frozen fruit, olive oil, granola bars, etc..  Cost me $540!!!!!!!!
My biggest bill there by far.  Sad thing is I could of bought more, I held back a little.

They have some new k-cup options now too.  They use to just carry Paul Newman now they have Starbucks, donut shop and caribou brands.
They have great prices on dairy products.  Cheese, butter, creamer, Hal n half, etc.  I stock up on butter and cheese and freeze it.  When the holidays roll around I don't have to pay the raised prices for those highly used items.

I used to have a membership as well, but only seemed to use it for dog food and Diet Coke, so I let it go...and just make trips with my sister every so often.

Recently joined and I like it. If you are smart with your purchases you will in fact save quite a lot. You have to be careful though. I saw a smaller bag of flower that was cheaper per lb than the bigger one, same brand? Made no sense. I try to focus on staples like rice, sugar, coffee, flour, toothpaste, floss... I never get anything that I can't freeze or will go bad within a month or so. Not having to run to grocery as much, cheaper gas...it all adds up but it takes a while to see it.

It's easy to get carried away at Sam's.  My wife and I went once and she noticed a big multi-pack of Q-Tips.  It was a good deal, but I pointed out to her that we wouldn't have to buy Q-Tips for about 10 years.  That's OK if you have unlimited storage!
