We have an appointment at 4:30, but I am worried about her.  Its been one thing after another for the last few months, I am beginning to wonder if she has some kind of immunity issue.  This is my 7.5 year old Bella, My other dog that is 2, has not been sick at all.  First, back in late April I noticed she was beginning to get some thinning hair, it ended up being mange.  I treated her for it and by the time I got back from Thailand the end of May, it was all gone and her hair had grown back in.  Then a few weeks later, I started noticing her right eye getting a lot of eye matter in the corner, at first I thought it was an allergy, but after a week or so it was not getting better so I had to take her to the vet the day before I went to NM, it ended up being an eye infection she needed drops for.   I also told the vet about the mange, since I treated it myself and he said it was gone.  I took her on my NM trip with me, we were there for two weeks, when we got home  I notice a weird pattern appearing on her stomach.  At first I thought scars I hadn't noticed from the mange but now I believe it to be ringworm that spread very quickly, and now her ear shows visible signs of an infection with a sore.  So on Tuesday late afternoon I made her an appointment for tomorrow at her regular vet, they were booked on Wednesday, closed on Thursday.  Yesterday she kind of started not really coughing, I know what kennel cough is and its not that, this is more like a clearing of the throat, but making her kind of gag, she hasn't thrown up.  Well today she wakes up and her mouth is producing saliva foamy stuff.  She has never done this before.   The thing is it doesn't seem to bother her, she acts like she feels fine for the most part, maybe ever so slightly not as playful, something only I would notice in her.   And her breathe smells horrible. I have had to make an appointment with a different vet since our regular one is closed on Thursdays, I just don't feel I should wait for tomorrow.   At this point in a matter of 2 weeks, she has developed ringworm, an ear infection, drainage, and now smelly foaming at the mouth.   She is up to date on all her shots.  4951

aw, praying for your baby.  Hopefully bloodwork will lead to a diagnosis and the vet will be able to treat her.  It's a good sign that she doesn't act sickly.  And eating well?  No loose stool?

Bella has some kind of baceria on her skin and her outer ear, inner ear looks okay, it isn't ring worm. They gave us antibiotics. He isn't sure what is causing the foaming at the mouth, her teeth are all fine. No fever. She might have a cold causing the symptoms, its hard to tell. Anyway he gave me stuff to treat the symptoms. I'm supose to report back on Monday. 4951

@Francita The first thing that came to my mind was Candida overgrowth and antibiotics are not good for stomach flora.  Let us know what the vet says. 4951

@pharlap:
My dogs foam sometimes after they get hold of a bug. They've both gotten frogs and foamed quite a bit then.

Did the vet check her teeth? My dog had a cracked and rotting tooth - with bad breath, but no foaming.
I didn't know it until they lifted her onto the scale/table at the vet's office and she was at eye level with her mouth open and I saw her nasty green tooth.  Emoticon

The vet supected a tooth. He double checked and all looked well, no inflamations, no rotten tooth, only a little tartar on her back molars. 4951
