The Obama campaign has been spending heavily on payroll, television ads and polling for months, hoping to tarnish Republican challenger Mitt Romney in the eyes of voters at an early stage of the general-election showdown.

But some Democrats worry that the overhead built by the Obama camp over the past 15 months will prove impossible to sustain. Unless fundraising picks up, the Obama campaign may enter the season’s final stretch confronting hard choices: paring salaries, scaling back advertising or pulling out of swing states in a bid to control costs, these Democrats say.

but Obama doesn't have to do anything to tarnish Romney.
Romney does that all by himself.

@bearae:

The media is good at putting the "left" spin on Romney's choices.

I learned from personal experience many years ago to take the media with a grain of salt.

It just seems IMO that most times Mitt opens his mouth blunders fall out of it.
And this is the best candidate the Republicans could come up with?

@bearae can you be more specific? Or just making sh*t up like all liberals do. If anybody needs to keep his hole shut it is OBama. Without a teleprompter the guy comes across as the insane professor at the local JC who spends 90% of the time talking about himself and his unrealistic beliefs.

@TexINS, same bs that the liberals say about every GOP candidate since the dawn of time.  Only the Dems are smart.  Take Kerry for example, they went on and on about how stupid Bush was, yet for some strange reason Bush made better grades in college than Kerry did.

We don't know how smart O really is, because no one knows exactly when he was in  which college, nor what any of his grades are.  We know Romney was an evil bully in middle school, but for some strange reason, we don't know anyone who ever knew O while he was in college.

Yeah American is seeing who is dumb, and it is looking like everyone who voted for a person they didn't know 3 years ago, and still don't know now.

You know the same guy who went to all 57 United States in the last election.  Ooops, that was a misspeak, not because O is a moron.  You see Dems misspeak.  They are the only ones allowed to do that.  For anyone else they are clearly lying, or they are stupid.

I disagree @mm4731 Obama is a socialist and Romney is a capitalist. Don't try to bring Romney down to Obama's level by saying they are both Jackarses. It's OBama who is the a$$clown and Romney who has actually accomplished something.

@TexINS:

Pretty judgmental accusations on a simple comment. I don't profess to be a Republican or a Democrat.  But I do say Mutt Mitt is a total jack*** idiot. Republicans dropped the ball with their  choice of candidates. Lose lose situation....

@bearae what did Mitt say or do for him to be an idiot? Let's see started Bain capital where he created wealth, turned companies around who in turn hired citizens. He saved the Salt Lake Olympics, Governed Massachusettes with a house full of lib democrats. Good husband and father. I still can't recall him saying or doing something so terrible. Not like he said the US has 57 states, or Hawaii is in Asia. Or mispronounce the word corpseman or sits in a church for 20 years but never hears the racist sermons of Wright. Obama's spiritual leader who said we deserved 9/11.

So you are glossing yourself as an independent? Independents aren't as cool as they think they are. They remind me of my son when he was three and asking him what his favorite flavor of ice cream is (I don't know, I guess I like them all). I can't believe people can't see a difference between these Romney and Obama. Maybe there should be an IQ as well as an ID check at the voting booth.

Is O a Muslim?

Why is religion important?  Isn't that what the left has been saying since O started running?  Yet now, oh my, religion matters?

You open that door, be ready for what is going to come thru it.

I think it will all play out when debate time comes.  Romney should wipe the floor with Obama.

Let's see ummmm................Mitt lost 4 years ago to McCain for the nomination.
 The right winger's didn't like him then & they really don't seem to like him now.
 I hear that quite a few people will vote for him while they hold their noses.
