To all of my lovely neighbors in GreenTree Village!  I am so sorry for the yapp
yapp yapping that I know you hear so well all through the night. We currently
have my mother in laws little dog until Sept and she will not shut up! I don’t know
how to get her the stop barking so much. It’s driving me crazy and I know if
anyone else hears her, they probley want to shut her up as well. Any ideas of
how to get a dog to stop barking so much and by not hurting it?

If I were locked up outside I'd bark all night too.  Bring her inside!!!!  You will have the police coming by soon with a disturbance call.  4951

Is the dog really outside? Lots of excercise/play and crated indoors with a chew bone or toy should help. 4951

if you are already keeping the dog inside , then let the little baby sleep curled up next to you at night . The dog is crying for a reason , sad , lonely , scared...all of those things & it just wants to  be comforted . Sleeping next to you in your bed would take care of all those things , plus it would stop barking . 4951

If I was your neighbor and this dog was out all night barking I would have called the police on you.  Noise ordinance  from 10pm - 8am? 4951

As everybody else said, bring the dog inside!   You could kennel/crate her inside the house, if her being loose is a concern.  Also Melatonin can help, but depending on the size of the dog you need to keep the dosage low.  After researching it, we gave our 50 pound dog 5 mg, which helped her settle down at night when we first rescued her.  Also, it might help to play some type of soft music or leave a tv/radio.   Hope that helps! 4951

@SpeedQueen: Thanks SpeedQueen, I'll try it. I dont crate her due to her going the the potty all the time, it's an on going thing for her, so she freely goes in and out the dog door as she needs. Im trying everything to keep her calm. She is a sweety but I think she just cant figure out why she was left here. It's different to her. I feel sorry for her.

@Zephard: Ive tried snuggleing and calming her down, but she still wants to bark at everything. I even called my mother in law to talk to her over the phone and then she goes through the house looking for her. It's kinda sad to watch. I'm going to take her to the vet to see what they can do. Im thinking it's a seperation thing.
