Went down to the Galleria the other day to get a couple nerw swim suits...
It's pretty cool over there! I was waiting for George Jetson to fly over my car! haha
Just sayin! Where are some good eats in that area? I would like to take the kids ice skating and to lunch or dinner..

@TreHawks:

Not yet! We usually get 2 pieces to spilt between the 5 of us. Usually the Reese's one and the white chocolate macadamia nut.
Why does my husband have to work nights

You should take the kids to Berings Hardware (I know, trust me on this).
The one on 3900 Bissonnet St

why you are in the area.

It won't need to be a long visit.
But it is pretty unique.

Cheesecake factory or rainforest cafe. There is a really fun candy store in the galleria too.

I agree about Berings. My dad used to do security for them in the 80's and i'd get to go to the store a lot as a kid. I know, so long ago, but it's a really neat place.

I lived near the intersection of fountainview and westheimer for about 7 years and here were a few of my favorite places:

Chacho's- On westheimer heading away from the loop, right past the HEB. Best beef fajita quesadilla ever
Jake's Philly steaks- Damn good philly cheese steak. On Chimney Rock.
Big Woodrow's- Cajun food and beer. On Chimney Rock
Pappas Burgers- Good burgers, fries and milkshakes. On Westheimer
Christies- Good seafood. On Westheimer and Greenridge.
Sam's boat- Great deck and great burgers and seafood and beer
Mama's cafe- Home cookin'. Westheimer and greenridge
Dave and Busters- Richmond and Fountainview.
Richmond arms pub- British style pub with british style food.

And many many more...the early 2000's are a bit hazy so I will probably think of more later

Man, I sure miss hitting all those bars and restaruants every night.

Go check out the Fish Gallery on fountainview too! They have really cool tank setups and there is a really cute and huge puffer fish at the counter, see if theyll feed him for you or let the kids do it.

@PedroDePacas:

Oh man, used to go there a bunch, havn't heard about that in years.
They used to have live bands and awesome happy hours on Fridays, it was hard to get near it.

I used to go to the one at Northwest Mall for my birthday. The Zoo was my ultimate desser as a child.

@mm4731:

Mall wise, I would say not missing much.
But in my younger days, the hopping night life was down there.
