My friend that i haven't seen in a while is coming over tomorrow with her 2.5 year old girl.  What snacks, food, drinks should i have in the house? If weather permits i hope they want to go to Old McDonalds Farm on 1960.  Any other ideas are welcome.  4951

Ask the parent(s) about snacks, food and drinks--some kids are on restricted diets or may have health issues pertaining to diet, such as diabetes. 4951

I took a breast feeding class yesterday and the instructor said not to "pump & dump" after drinking.  She said breast milk with alcohol was better for the baby than formula.  Wander if it helps the baby to sleep? 4951

not sure where this topic got off on breastfeeding? but yes.. I did not pump and dump and it was fine. Emoticon

NOW... about the 2.5 year old.  I have a 2.5 year old. They like goldfish, cheerios, craisins... stuff like that for snacks. My daughter loves putting it in a baggie and having her own bag to carry around (plus it's less messy than a bowl)...
Chicken nuggets, fries, apples cut up, banana...

Have fun! 4951

Put everything up high... I have a 15 month old and he pulls everything down and opens every cabinet and drawer.

@silly123: I was worried about that.  I have some chemicals below my kitchen sink that i need to move.

The dollar stores have the child proofing locks.  We have to use them ourselves even though we don't have an infant because the cat will go in EVERY cabinet if there not on there. 4951

I definitely agree with with @lainerigs about snacks. Those all sound spot on, especially goldfish. As for drinks, I'd suggest apple juice. 4951

You don't need to go and child proof everything...
Assuming you are not going to let the kid go alone for more than a few seconds.. and if it gets quiet then get on it!! Emoticon 4951
