No it's not ACL. It's LCP and the surgery will be done by Dr. Payne at the North Houston Veterinarian Specialist Center in Spring. 4951

Dr Payne is a wonderful surgeon, he is the one that removed my little Mylee's obstruction from her intestines a couple of years ago. 4951

What about physical therapy? Or a second opinion. Some vets rush to surgery as the answer. 4951

I'm a bit committed taking care of my Danes but I'd be happy to offer you a crack at several hundred dollars worth of grade A, wake up the neighbors fireworks at a discount.  If sold before the 4th you could easily double your money......just be cognizant of the fact that they are loud and may annoy neighbors if used late at night....I would suggest discretion. Send me a PM if interested. 4951

Thank you all for your suggestions, but I'm not looking for a cheaper vet. and surgery is the only option.  I was referred to a specialist by my VET which is why I'm going to NHVS.  I have done extensive research and the only option for LCP is surgery to remove the dead portion of the femur so that a false joint can form and to prevent muscle atrophy and relieve pain.  Renny can live without the surgery but she will not be able to run or play without pain.  Her condition will also lead to other pain rendering conditions.  If you would like to help Renny, you can do so by making a donation so that she doesn't have to wait so long for the surgery.  Even if only $5.  Every little bit helps. 4951
