My neighbor rung my doorbell today in a panic. She said there was a hurt dog in the road. On the next intersection there was a puppy wrapped in a towel laying in the street. She was barely breathing. We rushed her to Lone star vet,my vet. We kept telling her to hold on. She was whining in pain. His assistant was there, vet was eating,as it was lunchtime..she unwrapped the towel and the pup was covered in bloody stool. The pup was severely emanciated. She ran a parvo test,it came back negative. The pup then started to have strange movements in her mouth and the asst.said it looked like distemper. She was so sweet with the pup. I leaned over and told th epuppy We were so sorry that someone would leave her alone in the street to suffer and that we cared. She looked up at us and took her last breath. The vet tech had her hands on her went she left this world. She didn't go alone. I am disgusted with humanity. What kind of a heartless human would leave such a sick puppy to die in this heat,in the street?? I hope karma finds them...soon. My neighbor's sweet 14 year old girl was with me in the room. I am sorry she had to see such an inhumane act of cruelty today. My faith in people...took a huge hit today. RIP sweet pup. You were gorgeous and loved in your last hour. Your pain is gone. I will never forget you sweet baby.
Ray,it was a beautiful pup..golden retriever mix maybe? about 3 months. gutwrenching to see a little pup like that suffering so much. How could someone think ," Well, ok,my puppy is near death...I will just dump it in an intersection to be run over or bake to death." I can't wrap my head around that. I came home and looked at my chiweenie foster dog that was found in a ditch and I bawled...because I am so happy someone found her in time and I cried for that poor puppy.
You are such a kind hearted person, please dont let this one act of heartless cruelty harden you against continuing to help these defenseless animals. This world is tough enough for them, they need all the kind souls they can get.💗🐶
How sad. I'm sorry that you all had to go through that Maria. I hope there was not an entire litter that will be treated like that as they get sick.
That the owner's response to a puppy's illness was to dump her in the street for someone else to deal with is disgusting. Just like the person who dumped 2 cats outside a vet's office in 106 degree heat the other day..... dump and make it someone else's problem seems to be too common nowadays. What happened to taking responsibilty??
