   Just thought I would share how DH & I's anniversary went last night since so many people here helped us decide on where to dine, what bar to visit, & answered art museum questions. To start off, the art museum was incredible. Lots of Monets on display along with Picasso's, a Rembrandt exhibit, Frida, a Warhol... do many stunning pieces. Admission was only $10 & got us into both of the 3 story buildings. Well worth the money. Parking was free.           One of my shoes got a hole in it at the art museum so afterwards we had to make a detour stop to get me a new pair of shoes. On our way out we stumbled upon the coolest sculpture junkyard! Pretty sure we weren't supposed to be there but it was a very cool place.        (yes, that is my hubby inside of the sculpture bust, lol)Spaghetti warehouse was delicious! Cannot wait to take DD there. Very cool place & the service was great. Prices were not at all what we expected. VERY reasonable & parking was also free.   Thank you SO much to everyone that suggested Pete's Dueling Piano Bar! It was a great time! $2 shots, very laid back atmosphere, the servers & other patrons were all really nice, the music was great, they played all our requests, & the musicians are SO talented!! They are all incredible singers, pianists, drummers, the chick can tear up on the harmonica, & one of the guys can shred on the guitar. The dress code was very mixed so no matter what you wore you didn't feel out of place. People in shirts & ties or fancy dresses to people in shorts & flip flops. There was also a good mixture of ages as well. People in their early 20's- 60's. Cover charge was just $8 & parking at the garage was only $5. Everyone's welcome & it really is a good time for all. It was a great night.  @kingwooddotcom I did edit the size of these to 320 x 240. I guess photobucket is taking a while to size them down, but they should be significantly smaller before long. 4951

Hey, your husband's not as freaky looking as you lead us to believe.  I like the picture where he's picking Abe's nose.  Looks like you had a good time! 4951

@WJo: I'm not really sure. I didn't see any "no camera" signs anywhere. In certain rooms I took pictures freely in front of the curators (the Picasso's & Monet's were all in front of curators) but other exhibits like the Rembrandt especially, as well as the Frida, I sort of got the feeling that I wasn't supposed to take a picture, but I waited until they were looking another direction or talking to someone & I'd have my DH stand right up next to me & put my camera in between the 2 of us (using us together as a shield lol). She saw me doing the Frida & RIGHT as I snapped the picture (no flash fo course) she asked me not to take pictures & I apologized. Got my shot though. Emoticon They followed us from room to room in the Rembrandt exhibit though. We were freely able to take pictures of the roman sculptures as well. Try to sneak it I guess. We got lucky.

LOVE the nose-picking picture.  When I backpacked throughout Europe my junior year in college, that was my recurring photo theme- picking the noses on just about every statue I took a photo with, from Spain to Morrocco to Ireland and everywhere in-between, a statue's nose was being violated. 4951

Great pictures!
Spaghetti Warehouse is one of our family favorites.
And I have been wanting to go to the piano bar.  Sounds like a lot of fun.

Here's another place to keep in mind next time you venture into Houston.

@lola:
Just texted that link to my husband. Looks very cool. We've been discussing how we want to venture downtown more often. Taking DD to the science museum & to find something else to do downtown next week. Would like to check that place out too. Thanks.

Nice pictures! Looks like you had a great time.
