Deerbrook Mall (and malls in general) are not my favorite places to go but J.C. Penney had their men's polo shirts on sale for $9.00 (Father's Day extra gifts for dh) and my dd wanted to spend some of her birthday money, so off to the mall we went.  OMG!  WHY do some people bring their entire extended family to shop together as a group?  I'm talking mom, dad, grandparents, kids, cousins, aunts and uncles.   They travel in pods and you can't get around them and they are either slow as Christmas or stopping and chatting with each other blocking the entire walkway.   I'm not joking when I say there were probably at least four groups of extended families shopping together. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.  I even passed on the cinnabites I promised the kids.  I couldn't take it.  When I have all of my family together, the very last place I want to go is to the mall.  4951

We were at the mall & I didn't notice anything like that. We steered clear of department stores & food court area though. I generally hate deerbrook but we had a good time today. 4951

I don't like goi to the mall that much any time of the year but summer or weekends...ugh. Teen girls with their eyes glued to their texting devices not watching where they're going is my main peeve. 4951

I'm rude at the mall when you've got the pods of family or even worse... the group of teens that walk side by side and very slowly... (slow because their pants are around their knees)... I walked THROUGH them... It's common courtesy that people lack these days and I lack the patience for it. EmoticonSame reason I don't go to bars or clubs either. 4951

You people are pathetic shoppers! We travel in pods for two reasons. First, we are on our fifth stay_cation, and two, we get group discounts for large pods.

And just some friendly advice, cutting through a Mexican pod can get you about a_hundred_n_thirty stitches, easy on any given Sunday morning before church.

@Horsemagic: It's not cool and it's worse when they're wearing a belt but ONLY because of the buckle... ... ... ... My brother stopped sagging his pants because I told him that if he came back into the house with them around his knees that I was gonna pull them up and hang him by his pants...He ended up walking funny for the rest of the day with his junk a bit sore from the pants hitting hard... he was hanging from the top bunk for almost 10 mins trying to get down... Emoticon I win...

@WJo:  At least at Sears you can just park by Sears and not have to worry about going through the rest of the mall.  EmoticonIf I have to go to the mall, I go through Barnes & Noble....  It is fun to people watch if you do have to go to the mall though....you will see all sorts of interesting things.  Emoticon 4951

It's not just not cool it's not cool X 10000 Emoticon

And then some people take it all the way with the oversized shirt, backwards ball cap and big neck chain, which has been done to death. 4951

@WJo: You take care it was nice knowing you for such a short yet special time...sniff, goodbye. I hope they make it painless. If not, just know that...never mind, that won't work for you either.

Say hi to God because I know you will go to...never mind that also, I don't know you that well for that either. But if you go to purgatory, it's only for a few million years not eternity! So that will go by really fast. 4951

About 10 years ago our mall in NY changed their policy where anyone under 18 had to be accompanied by a parent. They put in a ton of security and ID'd everyone. It was so nice to go shopping there because it wasn't mobbed with teenagers, just adults who are actually there to spend money. I wonder why they dont do that here? 4951

How sad is it that we have to put rules in place/restrict because our society can't behave?

What happened to dignity respect and being thankful?

Sorry but my take,We are complaining how today we don't do enough as a family, separated from each other, and kids end up doing bad things. Now here are families shopping together and most likely a good example on the children. Not to mention the older ones are getting out and spending family time. Now we also complain about everything being so rush rush today. So all of a sudden we don't have enough patience to wait what, an extra minute (MAYBE), so you MIGHT HAVE been delayed 4 minutes total in your mall shopping experience?Maybe your life is just wound way to tight if those 4 minutes are going to stress you out. 4951
