I posted on here a few months back about moving to the Heights from Kingwood. You guys were so great with helpful responses and suggestions! We are now living in Bear Branch.
So, what do I need to know about Kingwood?!
I'm excited about the greenbelts (I'm a runner).... but I need to check out the parks in the area for my 2 year old.
Can't wait to get to know the area better.

I went to Starbucks this morning and everyone knew each other. Funny... I liked that Emoticon 4951

I hope you love it here as much as I do.   The green belts are great, get out and expore them.. Some are better than others.   there is one I like to walk, I park at the foster mill pool and that trail takes you to the lake, its really nice I have seem quite a bit of wildlife deer and such...

As for parks explore them as well...   Mills branch has a pretty good one with a hill in the middle.  The kids seem to like it.

Welcome to the jungle/forest !!!! 4951

Bear Branch is a great village. They have the Bear Branch Gazebo which has a nice play area and right across the street is the elementary school that has play structures too.

The Bear Branch pool is open. IT has a kiddie pool. I think the pool is having a Bear Branch community party tomorrow Saturday night. Good way to meet your neighbors. 4951

We are fairly new there to and these are the first few things we learned........Keep bug spray with you at all times when your going on the trails, parks or outside.Get your K sticker so you don't get towed from any of the KW parks. You have to have your registration sticker with your new address. Its a pain in the *** but worth it specially if you have a boat and want to use the private boat ramps.People drive crazy down KW drive and North park, they will pull right out in front or you or cut you off so be careful. The light is out about once a week at Russell Palmer and North park.Everyone is really friendly here and they love dogs. lolThe schools are great. The grocery stores are clean! WELCOME!!!!! 4951

@lainerigs: When my wife and I were moving down from Arkansas 7 years ago we made the same observation while sitting at CiCi's having dinner with the kids.  It wasn't that people said "hi" it was that they stopped and chatted with each other.  And it wasn't just once.  Everyone seemed to know someone else there.  Flash-forward 7 years and it's the rare occasion that we can go out to the store or to a local restaurant without bumping into someone we know.  Kingwood rocks! In addition to the great suggestions on area parks already made and the fact that Bear Branch Elementary is currently renewing all of its playground equipment, you have a bit of gem-in-hiding in Bear Branch.  The playground behind the Pines Montessori School is awesome.  They have something for every age and it's open to the public after school hours, on the weekends, and throughout the summer.  Enjoy!
