Our last house had wallpaper all over the house. 2500 sq ft of wallpaper just about. and so ugly. Here's a few pics Why was it cool in the 70's to put carpet in te bathroom? Ewwww 4951
the previous owners must have loved designs & bright colors & carpet (LOL) . You sure had your job cut out for you taking down all that wall paper. Iam allergic to the paste on the back of the wall paper , so I have to wear rubber gloves & mask when ever I am taking it down & I never put any wall paper in my home . Not even the borders ....just paint everything. 4951

Hi. I have been a contractor in Kingwood since the late 70's. Much of the wallpaper I run into is " stuck like glue". Walls should be " Sized" before installation of wallpaper. This sizing allows for easy removal of the wallpaper. But it is an extra step and expense that most times gets overlooked. If the wall are not sized then the wallpaper is glued right to the paper face of the sheetrock and is almost impossible to remove without damage to the existing sheetrock. Once the paper face of the existing sheetrock is damaged it is very difficuit to repair even by experts. Most of the time if the paper is tight,  it can be primed with a proper primer and then textured and painted with only minor removal and repair. I am experenced in the type of work and repair and would be happy to give you a free estimate. I live and work in Kingwood .  Michael Ellenberger ( Gene Ellenberger Builder Inc. ) 281 414-7313 4951
Thanks for all your responses. Â The wallpaper has probably been on the walls for 20 years or more so I am not even going to attempt to take it off myself. Â It kind of looks like fabric so I don't really want to paint over it. Â Anyway, Â Michael you sound like the one to call. Â Thanks. 4951
