>> Lola wants to come check out my new system. Wink
@Zephard: What company did you use? So there was a leak but decided to replace system. Lets us know if it was worth it.Â
@N+T: We have been in this home for almost 3 years. Our AC was 8 years old but installed so that we could not get to the coils and they were obviously leaking and looked bad when we got the system out of the attic. Also the return air flows and duct work was done badly so that all the cool air was in one room of the house and the rest of the house would not cool.  The AC system was also .50 tons undersized for our home.  The furnace was cut to fit a certain spot then they changed their mind and installed it somewhere where it didn't need to be cut so they put it back together. The furnace was not to code. We didn't have to change the furnace but did bc we could get a 16 seer if we did and could only get a lower seer with leaving the original intact. We also didn't want any warranty issues on the AC bc of not having both replaced. It just added up to needing to start over. We went with Du West they are known for being really good and coming behind bad jobs to fix things. They are on a local radio show but I can't tell you which one bc that was told to me by one of the references I got.  They also are very well know for slab repair bc of the lifetime warranty.   Du West sells American Standard and Train.  We went with American Standard after some research and found it to be a highly rated AC/ Furnace system along with Train the more expensive version. All the other brands we researched had more complaints than satisfied customers. They were comparable price wise to all our other quotes and had by far the best warranty. All parts and labor for ten years. They got here at 9am and stayed until 8pm to finish it. As far as was it worth it? We turned on the unit and went do some shopping coming back an hour later to be frozen out of the house (the worst room for not cooling at that). LOL. Had to crank the baby up some degrees.
