Does anyone have a recommendation on a doctor who specializes in geriatrics? 4951

Hi Lola, I am new to the board and do not post very often but read it to keep in touch with what is going on in the area.I did a lot of research for a geriatric specialist for my Mom  two years ago and never found one.  4951

@birdwatcher

I found a few by googling but wanted to know of anyone has actually gone to one.
I'm also looking for my mom who has dimentia.

Well, I'll keep an eye out if someone recommends one. When I looked I found some but not in our area and the ones I called I couldn't get a hold of. It was pretty frustrating.My Mom is also suffering the same fate as your Mom.  4951

Thanks birdwatcher.  I made an appointment with Dr. Susan Williams - July 16 is the first available date.
She sounds perfect; go read her bio.

Good luck, Lola.  My wife's mother had Alzheimer's.  Fortunately, my wife's sister had lost her job, so we (and their brother) paid her to take care of their mother.  We were fortunate.  Not everyone can provide full-time care for a parent. 4951
