Any suggestions for insurance carriers? Am leaning toward Blue Cross/Blue Shield for Plan F Medicare Supplement coverage. 4951

Why do you want to get regular Medicare PLUS a supplement, when the Medicare advantage plans cover more at no more than the regular Medicare premium, including Part D?  Check into the advantage plans. Much lower co-pays and deductibles. I pay just the regular $96.60 Medicare premium and get everything in one plan.  4951

I would suggest also looking at Plan G.  Very similar to Plan F, however, the premium is usually less and the only difference is you would pay the Part B annual deductible of $140.  Plan F or Plan G are great plans.  BCBS may not be the best price however.  If you would like to see all the carriers in one spot and compare plans go to www.summitmedigap.co m for a free quote.  There are also licensed medicare specialists that can answer all your questions.  It is quick, secure and it will save you a lot of time and money.-Bill 4951

Actually with Plan F there are no deductibles or co-pays.  The challenge with Medicare Advantage is the "max out of pocket" costs.  Look at your policy....I am sure it is more than $4,700 a year which is way more expensive the second you need the benefits.  Plan F is zero for max out of pocket.  Medicare Advantage also has a network so you can only go to certain doctors and hospitals.  Plan F or Plan G has no network.  National coverage.  I hope this helps.-Bill 4951
