SandyKnee, I would not worry too much, some dogs are just not liking each other, your dog is most likely still fine with all others, just does not like this particular one, so as long as this particular dog is not in the park you will be fine. You can't make them love each other but with some training you can make them tolerate each other. I have a dog similar to what you face, he likes most other dogs but there are a few he just can't stand. I used to take him to the dog park a lot but stopped when we got dog number 2 as she is too timid for dog parks.
Sandy- you must've been there the same day myy had her dog ( now ours) Loki. She said y'all were upset and asked her to leave and she would not so y'all left. I took Loki back once- he can be a bit hyper and rough so I run him before I let him loose- he had a blast!
Zora has had her issues with other dogs and doesn't like the ones that don't follow her rules. So I'm not comfortable taking her to a dog park. I think Colt would love it, but I get too anxious about everyone else's dogs. I feel like everyone should watch their dogs as closely as I watch mine, but sadly a lot don't. Mine were loving the weather today though! They were doing the crazy run, you know, ears back, tongue out, butt tucked, big eyes?!?! It cracks me up when they do that.
@Jpgurl, I doubt that was us your friend was referring to. I'm pretty non-confrontational (like my dogs ) and would never ask anyone else to leave. Rather, I just remove my dogs from a volatile situation. The day that one particular dog got into it with three other dogs, the woman who brought the dog said she was a foster, and she was a little "fussy." She had two other dogs with her. That dog was way more than "fussy!"
