Wow, it just keeps getting worse. Story on Channel 2 reported it is 65% worse than this time last year, and that they are exploring options for its real estate, continue closing stores and cut certain products.

Mayve the shift out of the malls to online shopping is to blame. I admit, I just don't think of Sears unless we are looking for Craftsman tools. 4951

I used to love Sears.  Primarily for tools, appliances, and engine-powered devices (lawnmowers, blowers, edgers, etc).  When they started stocking less, it forced me to order on-line.  They royally screwed up two expensive orders, so I quit using Sears.  Sorry that they are failing but they just didn't read their customers right and act appropriately. 4951

@CantStandTex: No. The good tamales take time to make. Fast convenient and cheap are what you get when eat store-bought.

They can't match a internet deal and I don't have to deal with all the a******* in the mall or at Sears.  As far as Craftsman tools, you can buy them at other places now and there are cheaper options with almost same quality and warranty.  4951

sears actually used to be a go-to store for most american families. it offered good quality products at reasonable prices. during the 80s, other retailers began offering cheaper foreign goods at lower prices tho inferior quality as well. think walmart.  by the time sears began trying to turn and regain customers, they had already lost a great deal of their customerbase to the bottomfeeding and cannibalizing effect of concentrating just on price. without a  shopping public who actually shop for quality as well as price, there may not be  away back for any retailer from the low prices at any cost attitude. 4951

Heck, growing up in the 60's & 70's almost everything we wore or had in our house came from Sears.  There was a catalog store in town - you could order and then they would call when your order came in.  After they closed it, my mother ordered a few times, but not nearly so much. We had to drive 70 miles to the nearest store to pick up the big stuff.  Not worth it when we could drive 30 miles and get something almost as good. 4951
