I'd like to hear some concerns about the road construction between 1960 and 2100 which would will be going to four lanes on 2100 I think the traffic would be horrible during the time of construction.
There will be a meeting in Huffman to discuss the widening of the road come to the Forum discuss this Construction 4951

I have zero concerns. So you feel they should leave it as is? 4951

Construction is inconvenient. It doesn't last forever. 4951

Was a time when 59 was only two lanes on either side.  Just imagine if had not been redesigned... 4951

Well, except for the stretch of BW8 from 59 to 45. That truly has been under construction forever. 4951

@ET: Don't forget 290.  It's been under construction since I was in high school.

@mutton: Ahhh, the good ole days.  I lived in Humble from 1993 to 2000, and drove old 59 when it went from two lanes to four on each side.  Every other Monday, the highway was different, and if you weren't prepared, you might find yourself into the new guardrail.  I still have nightmares about that occasionally.

80's for us so was happy to see the construction knowing what it would bring! Yes, was a pain at times though, lol. 4951

@mutton:  When I first moved here almost 24 years ago, I had to periodically go downtown for all-day meetings.  Hwy 59 was two lanes on each side and was a mess!  Just commuting to downtown could take anywhere from 1-2 hours.

@Retired_Engineer:
I rode park and ride or drove to downtown on it. Always left for an hour commute. Then started working on west side of town...such fun not now missed, lol. 4951

I lived on the west side during the entire I-10 expansion. My 12 mile commute usually took an hour and 20 minutes. I find it hard to complain about the traffic around here after that nightmare! 4951

When we first moved here, we considered all three places where I could end up working when we were house shopping.  I was first working way out west on Hwy 6 just south of Westheimer. My other potential locations were in downtown or Deer Park.   We like Kingwood so much, we decided to move here for the longest commute.  Any change in location would be a shorter commute.Fortunately, there was a carpool of people living here in Kingwood and working out west. That was a long, but usually fast, drive on the Beltway.The drive to Deer Park was also a bit of a pain before they ran West Lake Houston Pkwy all the way south to the Beltway (through what is now Summerwood).  We had to go SE on Atascocita Rd to Wilson Rd, then south to the Beltway.  Of course, back then, the Beltway wasn't build yet so we drove on what are now the service roads.  What used to take an hour would now probable only take about 30-40 minutes. They've added so many stop-lights on WLH Pkwy between 1960 and the Beltway, it may take longer.  I haven't been that way  in years! 4951

@Maisey1:
I had a call for employment back then. At the time commute for me was to sugar land for work. The only question I had for them was if the expansion was yet completed for I-10, lol. 4951
