I'm looking for a Pediatrition for my 3 month old preferably in Kingwood or close to it that excepts Medicaid (amerigroup). I'm very picky so please only good, nice Pediatrition's with good reviews. Thank you 😊 4951

Having medicaid shouldn't mean she should get subpar care for her baby. It sounded bratty and entitled but her being on assistance doesn't mean she loves her child any less or shouldn't want the best she can get.

You should have a list of pediatricians to choose from in the area. 4951

@Jaylo7799:

Congrats on your new baby! Go to the KDC search engine and type in pediatrician and go back several years. There's lots of old posts with recommendations. Also, try Zocdoc. You can search for a doctor in your area that accepts your insurance and even schedule appointments. You can read reviews on there as well. 4951

@BooBear:

Or what if she was recently laid off from her job and can't afford COBRA? Or what if she is going through a health crisis? We just dont know. At least she is doing wellness checks for the baby. I know some triflin people with private insurance that don't do that. This will probably be an interesting thread to read today. 4951

@J2911: even if she is 16 and knocked up by one of 12 different guys, she doesn't know...she has medicaid, she has a baby..Medicaid allows her a choice of doctors for her baby, she asked for recommendations.

ETA: the argument for or against aid like this can be debated, but right now..it is what it is. It seems as if she is doing the right thing and trying to start out correctly, at least as far as medical care for her baby.

Texas Children's hospital clinics take Medicaid(to my knowledge).  Most of the drs. there are excellent.  We loved Dr. Cox! 4951

@J2911: No one at all is faulting the baby, who has no choice and who has not yet developed the attitude of the mother.

Of course the baby should receive excellent care. Hopefully it will grow strong, thrive and become a productive member of society and great KW neighbor.

I also can't fault the reactions from those, myself included, thinking "what eff'n nerve??" as we work a full day/week/month/year to PAY FOR the services that are provided to such an ungrateful entitled attitude holder. Oh wait, let me stop working long enough to go research a doctor that fits that picky criteria....NOT.

She has internet access, so she can Google, herself, while she's likely at home collecting "entitlements."

Yes I have Medicaid because I'm a single mother. I would also like the best health care I can get for my child. Is that a problem? 4951

A little reality check...you are not on medicaid BECAUSE you are a single mother. You are a single mother on medicaid because of a failure to plan your life. How you go from here is up to you. Hopefully education is in your future so you will be able to provide for your child yourself. There are a lot if resources out there for you. Take advantage of them and become self sufficient.

I believe you should get the best care available for your child. Good luck in your search and congrats on the baby. 4951

Wow. Presumptive much? You've surmised this woman's entire life story. I don't have to agree with Medicaid to give her a recommendation. Your girl boobear pretty much said the same thing I said. Thanks for the unilateral shout out. Too funny.

@donnatella: first of all, let me say that you have NO idea what my situation is. My son is on Medicaid because that is the best I can do right now. I'm a single mother currently using my parents wifi to make this post so I can get my son the best care I can right now. Of course I would love to be able to have better insurance but I'm doing the best I can for now. I honestly can't believe the nasty comments I've received just for asking for help. I mean seriously, is it horrible that I'd like to find a good doctor for my son who has already had complications with birth? Yes, he's on Medicaid. Yes, I'm aware that I'm limited on Pediatrician's. But that doesn't make me a "taker." And for anyone that thought my post came off as rude, or ungrateful I apologize. I just haven't had very good luck with Pediatricians so far & I would be very appreciative if I could get some recommendations. Thank you

Just go on Zocdoc or do a past engine search on here as I suggested earlier. A few other posters have also given you some recs. You will probably have to just call around and inquire as to what the office accepts. I don't have Medicaid so I'm not sure of any providers. 4951
