20 years ago we purchased a large cement turtle , he weighs about 150 lbs. I paint him every other year to protect him . Well yesterday I noticed he was starting to get fine lines down his shell & one of his toes has fallen off . He sits on red lava rock so he is not on "dirt" . We are looking for a replacement turtle so when the "time" comes we will not have a void in our garden . I know it's a cement turtle but he has been with us for 20 years , moved to Texas & back with us , so it will be sad when we have to move him out of the garden & replace him . Has anyone else ever been attached to an "object" & been saddened when it was no longer around ? 4951

I had a cement Himalayan cat on my front porch & someone actually stole it.
That was sad, it was a memorial for a beautiful, precious little companion that I once had. 4951

When you have to replace him, don't just get rid of him - move him into a less conspicuous spot, maybe among some Lily of the Nile, let him peek out and supervise the new turtle. Yes, I have special lawn ornaments & rocks that travel with me when we move. I have a small rabbit that has it's head missing, so I have it's hind end sticking our of liriope. Looks cute & no one knows it's head is gone. 4951

I have a donkey pulling a wheelbarrow that was my great grandmas.  The thing has to be more than 50 years old and has been through countless moves.  My parents gave him to me after DH and I purchased the last house.  4951

There is that huge cement figures place off 290 and 6 in Hempstead, fraziers orinmental concrete. I have always wanted to get something awesome from there, but have never been. I bet they would have a new turtle. 4951
