@vlabroskiShe hasn't been herself and doesn't have an appetite. Her bloodwork showed her gallbladder numbers were out of whack so we had an ultrasound done and all her organs look normal. The spleen looks a bit abnormal. An aspiration is not recommended. The spleen is full of blood and poking it can result in more issues than answers.  A bursted spleen can be fatal.  Taking it out seems to be the best option.I'll be meeting the vet tomorrow and asking about the recovery. 4951

@lola first of all prayers for your baby. But yes my golden had to have her spleen removed. A splenectomy. She had lost her appetite as well. She was very anemic and had autoimmune hemolytic anemia. Her body was attacking her own red blood cells. The night of the surgery she had to stay in the animal ER and have a blood transfusion of Packed red blood cells. The splenectomy went well. 28 staples on her belly. They did find a mass on her spleen but it was not cancer. Prayers for a successful surgery and full recovery. 4951

@lola: Oh poor thing and I pray she will be good as new. Is hard having our furry children sick, I know for a fact, especially when is a serious illness. Healing prayers on your way. Keep us posted in her status.
