Someone mentioned on the other thread that the clinic at the new location was not open yet. Anyone know if they are still seeing people at the old location? 4951

I received an e-mail from them that stated they would be open when the store opened on the 26th?  Here is there #, maybe give them a call...   (281) 358-0013‎

Thanks. Sore throat started yesterday, though it was a cold, but now I'm thinking strep. I just want meds fast, lol. 4951

Last time I went there when I was sick, I paid them $50 to take my blood pressure and tell me to go buy some Claritan. Then a few weeks later, I got another bill in the mail for $75.Never again.  4951

@imadrummer2k: I would agree with you on this. I had my youngest in over Labor Day weekend - our first time there. Was told it was just allergies, paid $57 after my insurance (then found out it was actually around $59 and change so I had to go in and pay the other $2.83.)Fast forward 2 weeks and we were in again - same kid. He had strep. I just received a new bill from them (after paying my $57 the day-of).Flu A test - $40Flu B test - $40Strep A test - $36Two swabs stuck into a rapid test machine - $116 before insurance. WTH? My insurance is very good but we haven't met the deductible yet bc we only started on it in July when I changed jobs... I owe $36.43 per flu test and $10.72 for the strep. Had I known there were 2 flu tests, I would declined them. I knew he didn't have the flu.I am paying roughly $144 out-of-pocket for a 3-year old's visit for strep.Grrrr...................

2imadrummer2k, thanks for the heads up on this. Some of the minor ER places are like this. And it is good to know ahead of time.

@Fallon: Yeah, they charged my debit card $75 a month after the visit. I called them and could never even talk to a live person, so I disputed it with my bank and won. Charge was reversed. I guess they could never reach a live person either. Emoticon I’ve had MUCH better experiences with the clinics inside Walgreens.

@ET, your comments are mean.  Stop telling people to leave Kingwood.  It isn't gonna happen.

@Fallon: If you park on the back side you almost haven't left Kingwood.

I just took my daughter there last Friday and did not have any problems.

I tried calling the number but there was no answer. So I went into the new HEB. There was a lady at the desk that said they were not open until tomorrow. I specifically asked if the clinic at the old HEB was open and she said yes. I drove over and the doors are closed. I may try again in the morning. Maybe. 4951

Never again.

It is all based on what they "estimate" your insurance will cover.  When they receive payment or no payment from your insurance they try to recover the funds from the patient.  It is not the fault of the Redi-Clinic but the insurance carriers, if you are using insurance...  You can always file a protest.  They tell you upfront (at least in my experience) that the amount they are charging is an estimate.  One needs to be diligent to ask for itemized bills when this happens

Need to ask more questions...  If they cannot provide an answer go elsewhere....  $144 for a strep visit, kind of inexpensive when you consider it is your child and what a hospital stay would cost if it had escalated into something else?

@Andreweggplant: I'm not disagreeing with that, but I think $114 to do a swab and run it through a machine is a bit excessive.

Used them a few times.  One time I paid my co-pay and then got an email stating that I owed another less than $5.00 and they were charging my credit card.Redi-Clinic for me is a $25.00 co-pay, Green Oak clinic is $50.00.  I usually use the Green Oak Clinic because you are in and out faster and see a regular MD not a PA.  Nothing against PA's but I don't want to have to go back because they missed something.  That would cost me another $25.00 anyway. 4951
