I think you can actually remove the word Christian and ask the same question. No one has a monopoly on morality voting. I've heard that even some atheists are pro-life.

I understand your question, but I think most people vote with their conscience in mind about some issues, no matter their religion or lack there of. 4951

@CC1974:  Yes!  It is everyone's  responsibility to vote.  If the candidates do not fit with your Christian values you have to decide which one will do the least harm to the country.

Going back through the long list of American Presidents, not one has been a saint. I'm not sure why, now, Donald Trump is being held to that type of standard. Remember that early Christians were reminded to pay their taxes, "render unto Caesar...", knowing that the Roman government was actively and brutally murdering their fellow Christians.There have been "Christian" politicians who were dismal in one way or another, so I don't think you can vote for someone just because they wear that label.  4951

@BooBear:

I was asking because I have some friends who are Christians and believe the Bible is God's word. They say they are voting for Hillary because they are afraid Trump will get us in another war. I can't understand how you can say you are a Christian and believe what God says in the Bible and vote for someone who supports abortion. 4951

@CC1974:
Maybe they feel the war is most troubling to their beliefs? I assume abortion won't have as much a personal effect on them. They may be asking the same, how can you support a man they feel will allow young men and women to be killed in a sensless war?

As a Christian, I vote according to my faith as close as I possibly can. Nobody on this planet is perfect and all will and do sin...including the candidates this year, as with all years. With that in mind, I vote according to what lines up best with my beliefs, as right or as wrong as others may see it.

I will not move to another country if my candidate doesn't win. I'm not the kind of person who quits, unlike many of those who say if so-and-so wins, I'm leaving America. Really now? Grow up!

Back to voting...vote how you want for whatever reason you want. You can justify your choice if you'd like any way you see fit. But...VOTE!

this is entirely silly. first of all, if you believe the bible is god's word period end of story, then i better go marry my dead brother's widow and she has no choice in the matter cause the bible says so. and child sacrifice is a-ok...so is polygamy. so is slavery. and warfare can mean you kill or enslave everything that breathes in an enemy town down to the last woman and child or parakeet. oh and that pesky birth control? FORGET IT. no wasting that sacred sperm.  and the bible says NOTHING about abortion. as far as trump being antiabortion? he has been on both sides ranging from prochoice all the way over to send women to prison if they have an abortion no matter the reason. trump played the christian schtick to try to gather in the evangelicals. if you notice, a number of them are condemning trump so the christian position on trump is not particularly pro-missionary. plus how christian is his behavior in the other areas of his life? this gooey groping is NOT a recent aberration dreamed up by money grubbing lying sluts and/or leftwing media and/or the clinton campaign staff. he had lawsuits alleging the same behavior in the 90s. a reporter detailing the exact same behavior before that in conversations with coworkers and family. and btw, the reason women don't always come forward to report this kind of behavior is that they are vilified as moneygrubbing sluts and bimbos. and if the perpetrator has influence and deep pockets??? sound familiar? 4951
