Any recommendations for someone  who works on these in the area. The closest I can find is in Spring or close to downtown 4951

Pretty sure Spring is the nearest reliable repair for clocks. 4951

The clock people in Spring used to have a store over by Texas Roadhouse however they moved it to Spring.  You cannot go wrong with them  They are very good.  I have used them to fix a kitchen clock that is from the 1800's and they did a great job.  In fact I will  be taking the clock back to them one day soon as the chime seems to be off by an hour.  The only other one I know of (if it is still there) that is good was in Bellaire. 4951

We were extremely disappointed in the place in Spring. We took our wall clock in for cleaning-when we got it back- half of the chime selections wouldn't work- hubs had to tear it apart - they oiled parts that should not be oiled- hubs had to take everything apart and clean it and put it back. That clock was a test for an antique one we have- they didn't get our business. We had a conversation with them and they offered to clean it again- but we passed. 150.00$ we were out 4951

Recently?  They used to be really good.  I do not want to take my clock there if their service is below par now.  The clock I have is really old and cannot be replaced so I am particular where I take it...

@Andreweggplant: it was about 5-6 years ago. If it's the same family - I wouldn't take my clock there. If ownership changed hands I might give them a try

@Jpgurl: Still the same family (Moore)  I just looked them up.  I also found a clock repair shop in Splendora.  Gonna check on them...

Get really good references.

I took my great great grandfather's pocket watch to be cleaned & oiled to a jewelers that used to be by Starbucks up front.

They charged a bundle. I put it safely away & hadn't checked it till months later. That's when the thumbprint showed up, so I took it apart & saw that parts were missing. Too late, jewelry shop wouldn't own up to anything. I don't remember the name of the shop or what happened to it. 4951
