the new one opens the 26th. everything in the old store is being sold off at discounts. what doesn't get sold gets donated to food programs 4951

@ProblemAgain: Really? I didn't realize it would be that expensive or that much trouble to move the products over. Line up the trucks, late at night, load them up and truck them across the street. It doesn't seem that difficult. That is unless the donation is enough of a tax advantage to outweigh the moving costs.

@ProblemAgain: Really? I didn't realize it would be that expensive or that much trouble to move the products over. Line up the trucks, late at night, load them up and truck them across the street. It doesn't seem that difficult. That is unless rhe donation is enough of a tax advantage to outweigh the moving costs.
 
@donnatella: plus then they are GUARANTEED everything is in order instead of finding old stock or outdated merchandise later....plus remember a large grocery store is usually only making about 5 percent. the donation will offset that compared to adding labor into moving and restocking, then selling for a loss from the added cost

Heard it from checkout person last weekend. They said opening early was due to complaints about low stock on many items.

When I was at the old store a few days ago the clerk said no stock was being moved and some customers were really **** off about the empty shelves. I'm sure we'll survive Emoticon 4951

I was in there yesterday and they said the 26th. I went in for soup - the shelves are empty! BUT the wine was 25% off and if you bought 6 or more you got another 10% off. Pickings were slim- BUT there was still some pretty nice wines left. I bought enough that I won't have to buy wine for a year. Mon the whole store goes 25%- I may go and clean out the meat counter 4951
