I am not sure of the tipping protocol for curbside service at places such as Carrabbas.  I'd like to get some input so that I'm not being stingy.  I just noticed CVS will also be doing curbside carryout as well .  I'm not sure I would use that service much but  I guess a tip is expected for those  situations too? 4951

I do not tip for Chinese if I go in and get it. Just like if I go to subway or someplace, and I only get counter service, I rarely tip unless they do something beyond handing me a bag with my food. In my mind that isn't any different that the drivethru at McDonald's in terms of service. At Sonic I usually just get as small order, like a drink and fries so usually give them change, 75 cents or so unless I happened to get a full meal (would be rare) and then I would give them a dollar or two.I usually tip around $6 for 2 pizzas and same with Chinese's delivery, usually 6 or 7 dollars for a normal size order for our small family.Curbside at Carrabbas I generally tip around 12% but wondered if that is within the norm. 4951

Here is a tip, go in and get your food. I like to park in that curbside spot when I go for dinner because it so much closer to the door. 4951

I served at an Outback for more than 4 years - Outback is under the same parent company as Carraba's (Darden, I think?). Anywhoooo.... The curbside servers make server minimum wage - like $2.83/hr. And if there are two of them (usually there are bc one "man's" the curbside desk/area/phones, and services the customers, while the other person is packing the meal up and running back and forth to the kitchen) - they split tips. So it would be nice to leave at least 10% for them - especially on large orders. I remember several +$100 orders and getting $2. Frustrating. 4951
