@Spork, there is a yellow, I mean O M G yellow, house in Trailwood. Â I do not know how they got permission. Â It is awful at night, during the day, on a sunny day, it is just horrifying. Â IMO
@Fallon:
I know the house you are talking about. Every time I see it I think "oh when the paint dries it won't be so bad". It's taking forever to dry.. lol
Ps when I repainted my house I didn't ask for permission. Unless you are contributing to the cost, you get no say in what I do, hoa or not.
@allymansfield: I have lived in heavily deed restricted communities my entire adult life. If you intentionally purchase in one you sign a contract to abide by their rules. They can heavily fine you, put a lien on your home or actually force you out of the violations are serious enough.
For those that do not want to follow the rules and contribute to the cause of keeping the neighborhood nice and peoperty values high, there are plenty of neighborhoods without deed restrictions and HOAs. Nothing kills a comminity quicker than those who don't care and disregard the HOA rules, especially with exterior features like paint color, yard and property maintenance, etc.
@MarT has a gorgeous home and I'm sure she picked colors that work great.
