Hi everyone. Sorry I have not been around lately. Haven't felt very well. My harpoon chemo shots in each hip muscle is Thursday. Please say a prayer for me. Just tired.
My Cat Bailey girl has kidney failure but I have kept her going over 3 years. Food and fluids. I love my vet but they can't seem to be able to clear up her UTI. She was very sick last night. They did a culture two months ago the numerous antibiotics have not cleared it up. Kidney numbers stable not the kidneys.
Does anyone know of a good caring vet that is not extra expensive? I really need one. Now I have been told stress is giving her UTI. Told it could be my cancer. I cried all the way home. 4951

I use Lonestar Vet in Atascocita for my doggie.  I don't know how they are in comparison to cat care you pay for now.  4951

OMG, those harpoon shots sound like Hell! I hope you're given some good palliative drugs. Lots of luck, hope it goes as well as can be expected.

Poor Kittie! So very sorry! It sure hurts when our fur babies are so sick.
That Huffman vet sounds like a good place to go.
I have to make an appt. for my little Yorkie who has just recently gone blind. She did a flying Wallenda off the upstairs loft & I was sure she was dead downstairs. I ran downstairs & she was up & walking around, no problem. Luckily, she landed in a basket of clothes. Precious little girl, I don't want her to suffer.

Best of luck to you, Sweet Girl & Kittie, too! Let me know if I can help, ok? Anything at all, nite or day, I'm usually up! 4951

I'm so sorry. I like Dr. Otto at All Community Vet. I've heard good things about 494 vets and there's a vet in Huffman I've heard is inexpensive - check Atacocita.com- I think there was a thread on him 4951

We use 494.  We have one prone to UTI and crystals and they have always been able to give him great care at a good price. 4951

I use Atascocita Animal Hospital. There # is 281-852-8520. They seem to really go the distance for both dogs & cats. I only have a cat now. My Mom has my first cat, still alive at 15+ years with diabetes for at least 5 years. They have managed to keep her going (the cat) through thick & thin. We used to used the vets on 494 but the dr's we used are no longer there. Good Luck. 4951

@Ann2800, I would tell you to call your Vet, and speak to him/her before you spend any more money.  If your vet can't clear this up, and he has been the one treating your cat for kidney failure for 3 years, it really may be time to make other arrangements.  I hate to even think this, but as much as we love our pets, maybe because we do love them so much, we have to be able to make the right choice for their health. It was almost impossible for me to put our dog down this summer.  I am still heartbroken when I think of him, and I miss him daily.  I know I waited longer than I should have too, and I am not really happy with myself over this.  But hindsight is 20/20.  Call your vet and talk to them.  They may not tell you what you want to hear, but sometimes we have to hear it anyway.  I would not take her to just another vet to see if they can treat something that may very well be past treatable.  I had to take my bunny back to the vet today.  This is his second time in a month.  My vet told me it was time.  Not right now, but most likely in the next week or 2.  So I brought him home, and I am not giving him any more medicine.  The antibiotics are not working, and I am not going to stress him anymore.  In the next week I will come to terms with it, and do the right thing.  Being a grown up sucks.

@Fallon: I know what you mean but her kidneys numbers are good. Creat 2.3. Phos normal. It's the UTI. Urinary track. Her kidneys are doing well right now stable. I am so sorry. I will call my actual vet Thursday but he told me last week her kidneys were good. Just bladder infections need to get better. I will ask andaketusa sure. Thank you Fallon and I am so sorry again. Grown up does sucks
