I even gave Democrats Fla and Ohio and they occupy less than 35% of the US.US Land Mass:    3,794,083.06GOP Land Mass: 2,468,497.25DNC Land Mass: 1,325,585.81As of Polls right now:GOP: 25 States controlled DNC: 25 States controlled (gave them Fla and OH)Pretty scary stuff that a party can control over 65% of land where they have very limited support in those states. 4951

Welcome to America where your vote doesn't count unless you live in a swing state. 😂

If we had a true democracy there wouldn't be an electoral college.

@ET: I never mentioned people. Only land mass. Just a different way of looking at things. If you are a farmer in Montana or a hunter in Alaska you basically have no voice on national topics. The dense cities will always tell you what to do. Like D.C having more electoral votes than a state that is almost twice the size of TX.

You fail to grasp the concepts behind a Senate and House of Representatives forming the legislative branch.  Do the calculation based on popular vote, or even better, tax paying population, and you will find a very different result that would not favor the GOP.  How about GDP?  Tax revenue produced by state residents?"Occupies," interesting choice of words.  Odd but interesting. 4951

@beastmode: Pretty scary stuff when you discount millions of people because they don't vote the popular party in their state...............just sayin.

@frebu: I assume you mean a straight popular vote. That would be completely unfair considering 70% live paycheck to paycheck and over 20% are on welfare. They would always vote for free stuff or whoever said they were going to get the free stuff for them. Kinda going that way now.

@beastmode: Do you understand the concept of fair? Pretty sure you don't. See........if tons of people are in a terrible situation enough to push the popular vote to try and resolve their issues............THEN THERE IS A PROBLEM IN THE COUNTRY AND THE VOTE SHOULD BE A VEHICLE FOR THAT CHANGE. That is fair. Regardless who gives a flip who sits in the oval office? We all should know by now that congress is the puss filled wound that is killing our country. No term limits and running unopposed in districts that are designed to keep them in office..........yah no way that is a bad idea.

I can pretty much guarantee most Kingwood residents are on some form of welfare.  Before you jump all over me think carefully about all the things that fall under "wealth' redistribution, as some of you like to call entitlement programs. 4951

@mulmye:
What do you consider "wealth redistribution" and "entitlements"? 4951

@mulmye: Won't jump on you, but would you feel like sharing what these entitlement programs are?  Last time I checked both my husband and myself hold full time jobs and I don't remember receiving any entitlements, so please enlighten us.

@SwimSwim: Do you have kids? Do they go to public school? That is a form of welfare. I don't have kids, I still pay for your kids to go to school(assuming that you do have them and they went to school).

@frebu: My taxes paid for my daughter also.  All of our taxes paid for the roads, etc.  mulmye insinuates we are all on some type of welfare program.

If you file a Schedule A or take the standard deduction you are benefiting from an entitlement.  There are plenty others but I point to the one  most don't think about when they rail. 4951

@mulmye: I was unaware that taking a legal tax deduction was welfare, so I appreciate the information.
In my tiny, conservative brain I thought food stamps and unemployment were considered welfare.   4951
