Wow, I got a reply pretty quick. Here it is. Sounds like they are fixing it.Thank you for contacting our
office regarding traffic signal synchronization issues on North Park Drive.
Over the last two weeks, traffic engineers have been onsite to monitor and
augment that traffic cycle at the intersection of North Park Drive and
Woodridge Parkway. I went out to verify the functionality of the light at
Woodridge Parkway with traffic engineers yesterday and they have lengthened the
east and westbound green time during peak hours. That signal is now functioning
correctly but there still remains an issue at the intersection of North Park
Drive and Loop 494. The infrastructure at this intersection is under the Texas
Department of Transportation’s jurisdiction but the City of Houston has
permission to control its timing. Late last week Public Works and Engineering
Traffic Engineers discovered that there is a mechanism that is broken in that
traffic signal which is causing significant backup on North Park Drive.

Thanks to the diligence of
Public Works and Engineering working with TxDOT and Montgomery County we have
been able to locate the problem and the appropriate parts have been requested
for the repair of this light which should greatly improve mobility along North
Park Drive. Again, we thank you for contacting our office and look forward to
having this issue resolved.
