How do we remove Suddenlink from Kingwood? Their reviews are significantly bad! There service sucks and they have a monopoly in Kingwood.

Is there another option for fast Speed Internet?

If you use someone else, are you able to stream movies, have consistent connectivity to the internet?

For more than a year I have had unreliable service with Suddenlink internet. I have had multiple visits and they have replaced all the coax line in my house to the box in the backyard. I have replaced my Internet modem and wireless router 3 times. All they want to do is keep sending a technician out to my house to fix the same thing over and over.

I am disgusted with them. There is no consistency on when I lose internet connection. I can be streaming something just fine and then an hour later it stops. Other days it doesn't last but two minutes. This is not just a streaming issue it is a connectivity to the internet. 4951

Search the many SL threads on here and get the Customer Service rep that pipes in.  Send them an email and see if they can help.  Worked for me with a recent problem.Your option is Century Link - they were not a good experience for us. 4951

I see these threads all the time and I feel like I have to pipe in....I've had Suddenlink for about a month now after switching away from CenturyLink. It's cheaper and MUCH faster. The fastest speed I could get with CenturyLink was 1.5... I'm paying less for 50 with Suddenlink. Granted, I've only had it for a month or so, but so far I've had no problems whatsoever. (knock on wood) 4951

We have had the same problem with Suddenlink. I wish we could get another company.  My husband has called for weeks with a promise to have a supervisor call him back and not once has anyone called back.    4951

Maybe one day Google Fiber will come in.  Suddenlink has been really jacking up their prices.  I have been through Kingwood Cable to Cebridge to Suddenlink since I have been here.  The only thing that brings down prices and improves service is competition, something you won't see in Kingwood. 4951

I switched from CenturyLink to Suddenlink a couple of years ago because CenturyLink's connection dropped out or slowed down constantly.  I was also having to reboot my modem every day or so.I have 200Mbps speed and unlimited data from Suddenlink.  It rarely drops out or slows down.  I haven't had to reboot my modem in well over 6 months.  Suddelink has been great for me!It appears that the hardware (lines, connections, etc) for each company are better in some areas of Kingwood than in other areas, making CenturyLink better in some areas and Suddenlink in some areas.  Both have a monopoly in their services, so your only alternative to them is satellite, which has its own issues. 4951

No issues at all with Suddenlink.  They have been great in the 18 months we've had them.  I will never, ever go back to Centurylink and their SLOW DSL.  They don't sell high speed Internet.  They sell barely faster than dial-up Internet.  Plus they never show up for their appointments, which is never a problem with Suddenlink.  I am happy we don't have Comcast in Kingwood...they are horrible. 4951

Can we all do this? Look at the specs on your modem and compare to a quality modem. If you're stacking books on it covering it up and its getting hot it will stop working or intermittently work. You also have 10 channels if your neighbor is on the same channel your wifi will not work. Hardwire ethernet to your pc and see where you stand.  4951

@friday1:  Good reminders!  Our PCs are hard-wired to our router.  We only use WiFi for our tablets, phones, and Kindles.Another reminder:  Make sure your router is set to allow enough devices.  If not, it has to constantly reassign IP addresses to devices as you turn some off and on.  If too many devices are running, it will not function for those over your established limit.  AND, make sure you are using a password on your WiFi router.  I'm still amazed at how many people don't use this simple security.Edited:  With thee of us browsing the internet, this is still the speed I get.

I have had issues with Suddenlink too. I don't even have the option of anything else. It is never consistent and the price keeps going up. 4951

@jschiner: Doesn't seem likely now, they are stopping the roll out it seems, they are cutting costs and Fiber was the low hanging fruit.
