So for the past week since the super heavy rain let up I have been putting a dish of cat food out and a dish of water. I put it in a covered area near out wood pile behind the garage where my above the ground shed is attached. Can't see to far up under the shed but one can see an animal is using this area. The food dish is always empty within a few hours. The dish is not turned over or anything indicating a bigger animal like a racoon, etc. This evening I took the food out and as I turned the corner the big fluffy cat was there in the grass lounging but as soon as he saw me he bolted under the shed. I called out his name (I was told he only is called "kitty"). I put down the food and went back inside. So what am I to do? I can't go on forever feeding the cat. Does anyone know someone who is willing to try to trap or collect a feral cat? He isn't a bother but I won't feed him forever. The lady behind me was looking after him and she had to go into assisted living, her sister down the street was the one who alerted me about the cat being feral but having been cared for by her sister. 4951

@Chrisinkingwood: In addition to the link provided there is also Wags to Whiskers in Porter.  they trapped a lot of the cats that were at the former Kings Crossing Apts.  On another note, if the cat is now coming out and relaxing it may soon allow you to pet it etc and you can catch it yourself.  I have a carrier if you need one.

If you stop feeding it, maybe it will find a new home on its own. 4951
