Overall the daily usage wasn't bad until August 8th and 9th when their bar graph says we used 900+ gallons on each day. I did do some watering last week, can't remember the exact days but I use a timer to remind me to move the sprinkler. Glad the rain finally hit so we won't need to water as much for awhile. We run a load of dishes every day, a load of clothes 2 times a week or so and 2 showers every day. So the watering was the only difference. Our July bill was $38, this month it's $118! 4951

jeesh, that's cheap...mine was over 300. but I guess not remembering to turn the hose off of a planter a few times did me in. I'll be interested to see what it is for August. I've been running my irrigation every day. Just that time of the year for us...and our electric bill. OMG. almost 500 bucks. but I crank it to 66 at night. 70-74 during the day.  4951

Last bill was $139; current bill is $130. I try to water every two to three days unless we're getting some rain. 4951

It's not the water we use....it's the exorbitant drainage and sewer and other  little charges that are tacked on our bills.  Kingwood got royally screwed when we were lovingly annexed/Our water bill for 7/26 billing was $214.12 for 17K gallons.Previously 6K gallons & $81.49.No pool but a lot of plants that need water.Guess we the cleanest neighbors in the area..Does their system of drive by meter reading really work all the time and is it accurate?Either way I expect a lady from the city to arrive at my door and at least give me a kiss after the screwing they apparently gave me.  The least the can do, right? 4951

Lots of noise over on the "other site" about ridiculously high bills....no way we used enough water to justify the house note sized bill we got.  Apparently you have to present documented proof that your bill should be lower, along with your first born child.Will be interesting to see how the rains affect the city's billing claims. 4951

Ours was $195.99 about $30 higher than the previous months.  Don't know how many gallons, I tossed the bill and online I can't find it.  We've been topping off the pool probably 2x a week plus watering outside with the sprinklers.  4951

@sh56: Yeah, but they have MUD's and MUD taxes plus surface water fees every month... It probably all evens out...

My water bill was about $250.  I had the sprinklers on every day.  I have two water meters:  one for the house and one for irrigation.  You don't pay sewage and drainage fees for an irrigation meter.  Just the house portion is usually around $40. 4951

OK, I stand corrected but as I have said before, my DW pays the bills so sometimes I am in the blind. When we looked at the past 3 years our August bill is always higher. That makes sense as we mostly get the dry and very hot conditions. I guess I could let everything just die but I have a lot of nice bushes, trees and the lawn. OK sorry if I started something. 4951

@cgm10sne1: $360 and guilty. I swear I think COH don't read the meter just send the Utility truck to drive by and check who is outside watering. LOL

Last month $90.00 and this month $219.00.  We did water the yard some but were on vacation for 10 days or so last month.  I just can't see how we could have used that much water.   4951

@Chrisinkingwood:

That's insane. On average a family of 4 should be using about 400 gallons a day. When you design ships or oil platforms, even hotels, you average about 90 gallons a man per day. That includes toilet and shower use, food prep/galley, drinking water, laundry, and other. If you are using 900 a day you might want to look into that. Do you have a pool or water your lawn daily? 4951
