There's a new oyster bar coming to Kingwood this fall. NOLA’S OYSTER BAR & PATIO is a New Orleans-inspired full service restaurant that delivers traditional Louisiana cuisine.  Their recipes use authentic Cajun and Creole seasoning, ingredients and flavors from “andouille sausage to fried zucchini”.  NOLA's team, originally from the Crescent City, has over 30 years of experience.  They are passionate about their heritage and are dedicated to exceeding customers' expectations. NOLA's is located at 2845-A Town Center Circle in Kingwood (77345). http://nolasoysterbar.com

Not bad I love me some oysters. Nice little addition to the area, I know plenty of cajun people in these parts and those restaurants always seem to do well here in Houston and the surrounding areas. 4951

@allymansfield: Tularosa's has not hit the threads in a while....though that might be a good thing.  Wonder how it is doing.

I think our resident foodie @donatella did a review when they opened and said they were pretty good.... 4951

Hope they have some decent prices or special days on half shells. Went to Pappas last week, $13.95 per doz. I remember them being $3.95 on the sign in the past. They are probably paying $25 per bag for them and ripping folks off. Plus would be nice to have a place to get some good gumbo that is not $7.95 for a cup and $9.95 for a bowl...it is soup after all. 4951

Looks good. I like the pic of their gumbo. Real gumbo has hardly any rice. Do that in Cajun country and you put shame on the cook. 4951

@Andreweggplant:

Are you related to the restaurant in any way or just excited to see something new coming in there?

It surprises me to see how well Chachi's does but just a few steps away has difficulties. I am sure parking is part of it. 4951

I'm excited for Nola's to open. Hubs and I went to chachis a few weeks back. Our 3rd time in 3 years. We don't care for it. They don't strain their taco meat. Oozes with nothing but grease. It's mediocre at best....but it sure does a huge business. Different strokes for different folks. 4951

Not an oyster fan, but I'm sure they will have other yummy menu items. Checking out their menu at nolaoysterbar.com/our-menu

Crab cakes
Fried alligator
Stuffed artichoke bread

Looks like plenty to keep my interest. We will definitely have to check this out. Hope they have a good bar, as well. 4951

@Annie, and @cgm10sne1, Amen.  How Chachi's stays in business is beyond me.  The people I know that go there, mostly go there to drink.  The food us subpar, on a good day.They can't touch Lupe for fresh food.  And it is all about the food being fresh.

@Fallon:

For us, beef fajitas and ranchera chicken enchiladas are our pics.

Is this going where Cafe Du Bois used to be?  I looked at the map and it sort of looks like that is the new location, but can't tell for sure.  The menu sounds yummy.  I am always looking for some new good places to eat around there that are not fast food chains.  Emoticon 4951
