@ET: Not at all. I just can't stand to watch people get duped, conned, and cheated out of hard-earned money they think is going directly to a good cause, when it sounds like the schools are an after thought, once the eating, drinking and community party is over. They are even inviting the general, non-paying public, non-contributors, to come eat drink and be merry.
@donnatella: You must have missed the second part of this....contribution expected.Or come by between 2-4 have free Bbq and a beer! You can make your check out directly to Humble ISD.
Because Donnatella has her knickers in a knot, here is how the math usually works: For a shotgun start - 18 holes on a golf course X 4 players X $75/head (most are $100+) = $5400. IF you get all 18 holes sponsored @ $200/each, that = $3,600. Total $9000.Golf course is not a charity so you have to
ay to lock it up for half a day. Add in food and drink (not an insignificant amount of drinking and eating goes on) and some sort of golf trinket giveaways and you are very lucky to keep 50%....Sooooo, if you mange to fill both
layers and sponsors....maybe $4,500 or so left (that is very optimistic). They can bolster the take with various raffles etc. but that relies on people shelling out more money.
That is $4-5,000 more than the school has now and it is all voluntary. Drop in the bucket for all the waste in our schools systems but nobody forced to play or contribute.
