So -
We have Directv but we seem to pay way too much for not too much. We got a phone call from Suddenlink asking us if we would consider switching..... So let's hear it - the good the bad the ugly. We currently have two DVRs and like 300 channels. We pay $110 a month !!! Highway robbery!! 4951

Really, 300 channels is "not too much"?  that's pretty funny.  Did they give you a price and channel line-up, if not you should ask and at least do your own comparison on offerings.  They are all expensive and you probably won't save much if anything. As for service I have Suddenlink and have no problems - others have problems. It seems to be dependent on where you are in the neighborhoods.  You Emoticonrobably are better off asking your neighbors.  I am happy I don't lose service in a storm as some complain about - that is when I want service. 4951

Be careful with enticing offers. They might have a great deal that soon expires and then you end up under co tract paying close to what you were before you switched.

If DirecTV is not so much, then you watch entirely too much TV. We've had it for years and love it. 4951

300 Channels is a high end package, not sure on the need for the two DVR's though, how long have you had them? Nowadays it's Genie which is one DVR and one Genie Mini which connect to each other. You may try seeing if you can get a new fixed term contract and have them upgrade your equipment while saving you money on the package, it can't hurt to ask. I find that the other companies look great until you actually compare like for like and then there isn't as much difference in price as you think. If there are two adults in the house you may try cancelling the service as is and starting over in the others name to get the latest new customer deals. We are getting 220 channels (i think) and whole home DVR on 4 tv's (HD on 3 and a 4K box (although not a 4K subscription) on the other) all for less than $70 fixed for 2 years.. 4951

If you have children that are preteen or teen Suddenlink does not have channels for them anymore.  They also give you a very low price to start with but once you add a box or DVR to anything your price shoots up.  I was going to switch because my contract expired with Direct but it is less than $15.00 difference and my 11 year old does not want to watch Sprout. We had Suddenlink for years and never had an issue with service but the price is outrageous.  My internet cost a fortune every month.  The last time I had someone from Direct TV out he told me we would never get anything but Suddenlink in North Woodland Hills because our part of town is so old and they will never run the wires needed for us to have U-Verse or anything for internet besides Suddenlink or Centurylink.  Centurylink on my block has dial up speed.Be careful switching.  You could get burned in the end. 4951

Only $110 a month for 300 channels?! You'll be crazy to switch thats a good deal! @mommy2monkiesEDIT: For $250 a month plus internet we get 100 channels technically 300 but it doesn't count when the first two hundred channels are the same just 100 are not HD and the next 100 are the same channels in HD 4951

If there is anything that I can do to help

@Suddenlink Help: Yes, there is...stop trying to spam the members' posts, and buy a legitimate ad. You are stealing from KDC by trying to sneak in posts like this. I see from your previous posts that multiple people use this username and log-in and it's just for spamming. Not cool!
