My 3 year old is driving me to the brink with her whining. It's a constant high pitched, long drawn, "I NEED HEEEELLLLLPP!!" because she can't get her shoes on, or "NOOOOO GAGE!" even when he's not doing anything but being in the same room.

It's been a hell of a week between her attitude and Gage pushing 2 teeth. Momma's tired!

This is why God only allows young people to have kids. Cheer up... it gets better with time but then again there are those stressful teenage years. 4951

Amen @Burnsway.  Had my first at 33.  And my last at 36.  I have way more patience even now.  And mine are in their teens.

@Fallon:

You kind of develope a oh wtf...let it go..attitude at this age. Cant tell you how many times in my mind I thought.....your sister would have been kicked to high heaven for that!!!!!. Yet the youngest is actually more respectful than the oldest even though she gets away with more. Leaves me confused at times...lol

The flour is fun, then mixing in all the stuff, then playing with the dough.

@Fallon: Okay so taking a teething toddler and grumpy 3 year old into the room with all the sharp instruments, then proceeding to give them flour, water & other ingredients is going to give this Mother peace? Must be southern thing.-

I am pretty laid back with what I allow. I try to stay out of their little tiffs and let them figure it out. This week has just been extra whine-y.

The kitchen is a good idea. But my little guy is a 15 month old monster. He would just throw the flour all over, creating yet another mess for me to clean. He's in that, not a baby, but not quite a toddler, stage.

I think I'll set up the water table for them outside this afternoon.

@Burnsway: Pretty much the same experience here. However my grandson is old enough to go to college next year. I think I'm safe in saying your youngest will most likely continue to be easier, I know my daughter was however I did spoil her a little but that's what daughters are for.. just ask her dad I'm sure he'll agree. LOL

LOL! Exactly! It would be a total **** show!

My little guy is too young too small to be able to stand and help, or even sit on the counter and help. He'd throw himself off the counter immediately! The girl would be screaming that he was touching her. Total nightmare!

My 3 year old is really into helping me with dinner every night though. The baby is more into destroying my tupperware drawer. 4951

I used to push a chair up to the sink filled with a few inches of water, add some soap and give my sons the old fashioned egg beater.  They'd play for hours making bubbles and my sink got pretty clean.  I'd also open up my Tupperware cabinet door and let them play with all the bowls and lids.  Or give them a wooden spoon and a big pot to bang away on.  Good luck and enjoy the little buggars.  They'll be grown and gone before you know what happened.   4951
