Does anyone know anything about the homeless person that lives up front Kingwood behind the Exxon station - Show Biz area? This person has been in the same spot for the longest time. Just sits under an umbrella, all wrapped up, never moves night or day. I just wonder how she gets food and water etc. 4951

There are a number of posts on here about her.  She does not bother anyone, has been in that area for a couple of years.  Does not really care for/take handouts.   4951

Maybe she lives nearby....just a thought maybe she is working on a homeless experiment?  Maybe for a book or research?   Read a book a couple of years of ago where a man somehow changed the color of his skin to look black and live as a black person in New Orleans.....interesting true story.....John Howard Griffin, the author and main character of Black Like Me, is a middle-aged white man living in Mansfield, Texas in 1959. Deeply committed to the cause of racial justice and frustrated by his inability as a white man to understand the black experience, Griffin decides to take a radical step: he decides to undergo medical treatment to change the color of his skin and temporarily become a black man. After securing the support of his wife and of George Levitan, the editor of a black-oriented magazine called Sepia which will fund Griffin's experience in return for an article about it, Griffin sets out for New Orleans to begin his life as a black man. He finds a contact in the black community, a soft-spoken, articulate shoe-shiner named Sterling Williams, and begins a dermatological regimen of exposure to ultraviolet light, oral medication, and skin dyes. Eventually, Griffin looks in the mirror and sees a black man looking back. He briefly panics, feeling that he has lost his identity, and then he sets out to explore the black community.

I go to the McDonald's up front for a soda in the morning about 6am.  She is there almost every morning getting stuff.  I can see her from the drive thru or walking back.  Yes, she is very clean and according to the McDonald staff very nice.  She purchased a big bag of ice the other morning.  Sometimes I see her while I'm in the drive thru and sometimes she is walking back.  She seems harmless and she does pay because I see them giving her a receipt and change sometimes.  She looks to be maybe in her 40's and maybe Spanish but I can't tell.  She usually has her hair pulled back with a baseball cap on. 4951

My husband had to do a research paper on that book in the 80s, so we read it together. I always proofread his papers, so I read the same stuff he had to so I could do a adequate proofing.

It was a extremely eye opening book! 4951

Yes saw her waiting to cross Northpark today like coming from Kroger, upfront. I agree, doesn't appear to be homeless. Don't know what's up with her, but it doesn't appear she needs help so ...? The family said maybe she likes to camp 🤔 4951

@jcr9599:

Dude she is homeless. She sits in a lawn chair rapped in a tarp in a parking lot. That isn't what I call camping. 4951

Has anyone actually seen her after dark? She may live with relatives who don't trust her in their house alone(for whatever reason, not implying he is not a nice/good person). I only say this because she seems to be clean and is carrying a large amount of stuff with her which is not normal for a homeless person(having a large amount of stuff makes you a target after dark). 4951
